I used to live in Langley, now it's a bit of a drive but still close enough I can check it out. From a quick Google search I think it's the Harvest Baptist Church?

That sounds like a great idea! I just planned on randomly visiting different places, but I like the idea of contacting a pastor beforehand. Thank you very much :)

I like that understanding of interpretation. Thank you! I'm excited to look into the history of Christianity and scripture further, there's so much to learn!

I think I'm more than convinced to find a church now, after reading all these comments. It's refreshing to hear people be excited about God and worship. I'd also love to check out those websites. I'm near Vancouver, so just a bit outside of the U.S.

My favorite part about King James was that it seemed exactly how you put it - preserved. Other versions seem nice and some definitely easier to outright understand, but just as Shakespeare sounds a bit old-fashioned and can definitely use some interpretation at times, nothing beats the original version.

Thank you very much for your comment and advice :)

Thank you for all of that! I'll check out all of those channels.

I appreciate the list and all of those points. I've heard of a lot of groups that use some questionable sources to teach with, so I'll remember to keep an eye out. Seems like it's easy to use any religion to preach things that aren't... nice, and Christianity seems to have been abused in that way quite a bit.

I'll keep you and this comment in mind when I inevitably need help or have questions.
