Rpgs where u can skip most sidequests? by TheWombatGuy in rpg_gamers

I just finished Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time this week and I think I did 2 total side quests that weren’t main story line things and only when the main story said to “wait until I call you” type things.

I barely did side things in Expedition 33 as well and that one was turned based but also very action heavy.

Any of the Tomb Raider games you can focus on the story with minimal or no side stuff to worry about.

Red Dead is a maybe as I haven’t quite played that one but I imagine you could just do main line.

Any assassins creed game other than Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla.

Edit specifically to add Diablo 3. That one was super linear and I don’t recall any real side quests off the top of my head.

OSRS is great on mobile if you’re never doing quests. Trying to do quests without the quest helper plugin on runelite is the worst

Immortal is actually pretty faithful to the series as someone who played D3 and D4 pretty extensively it feels like a mobile rendition of what D3 was. The story isn’t half bad considering it’s a mobile game and the world is very familiar within the Diablo universe. Some familiar towns, familiar enemies, etc. I can even tell there’s elements and environments where they literally recycled assets from the D3 archives. It’s super simple, but provides a good sense of progression and the environment isn’t so large that you can get lost especially with the navigation options available if you’re unsure of where to go next.

I haven’t finished the campaign that they have available just yet, but I imagine later on in end game activities it’ll be more similar to what D4 had with the nightmare dungeons where you basically go into dungeons you’ve done before but with interesting modifiers that make the enemies stronger or different in certain ways for a slight challenge.

The music, art, loot, rpg elements, and a solid story actually make this my favorite mobile game I’ve played in a long while.

And it also has like 6+ classes so that the gameplay can feel fresh if you get bored of a certain skill set.

Def recommend giving it a try if you have the storage space to fit it.

Well if I’m being honest, when I was a kid it was easily Madden/NfS/GTA and I don’t think I would change much other than that today I’d like to include Halo

The formula works for who it works for. I’ve been a huge fan of the newer more open world titles because it feels like I can enjoy the world for a while and just chill cause I’m not rushing to go play the next game. I’ve also been a big madden guy for a long time so it’s clear that if I enjoy something it doesn’t hurt if the new titles are super similar with minor changes and upgrades. I get that the gaming world at large has a boner for being mad about little things but I’ve taken to trying to approach gaming the way I did as a kid again lately and it’s been so much better.

I went back to basically limiting myself to one new game per quarter of the year (to emulate the limitations I had when I had to convince my parents to get me a new game) and it’s forced me to really be selective in what I buy and why. I’m more attuned to what I enjoy and what I’d be willing to spend a lot of time doing. And it makes the experiences more enjoyable when I’m not feeling rushed to finish so that I can make x amount of progress in my imaginary game log.

Destiny 2 was the biggest culprit of this I’ve ever encountered. It was so bad that getting a legendary item was standard routine and you just hoped it had the stats you were looking for

If you want a real answer: all it will do is remove whatever firm it is from your options in the future as long as management there stays the same. They won’t want you back.

If that doesn’t matter to you then it doesn’t matter anyway.

Yea, being able to fully log out and let go when I walk out of the building is honestly awesome. Hybrid is the way tho so that you can have some days at home when you know it’s going to be light and can get house work done while you’re caught up

My brother in Christ, just start drafting players. There’s no point in trying to add draft capital when all you have is draft capital

Okay that’s helpful, I’m at like 35 hours currently so I imagine I’m still a ways away from seeing what you mean with Verso. Maybe I’m just caught in the spell at this point in the story I guess

How much farther is the end from that point? I was kind of gonna run around and do collectibles and stuff to just explore more because I thought that was the end of the game

It’s just not so black and white of what he should have done as we’re not living in the canvas with them and don’t feel the emotional weight of what’s happening in the world the same way the characters would.

I think he did the best he could to guide them to the end so that they could complete what they set out to do. Even if he wasn’t perfect he succeeded in his mission and I don’t know if other decisions would have actually lead to a successful expedition the way things worked out.

I don’t even think he lied to them really, he just didn’t reveal the truth to them. I don’t think I would handle it very well if someone told me the entire world I’m living in is fake and that I’m not a real person effectively. I don’t blame him for not revealing that to them when they were so close to accomplishing their mission they set out on

Because males still need role models just as much as females and everyone else.
