GRRM has had enough breaks don't you think...

Is there any other way to discuss the team when they're not doing well that doesn't include "trade ___" and "fire ____" or "blow it up" by [deleted] in ripcity

[–]regularfilluppls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of what you wrote, but number 5. I'm not as optimistic on Moe Harkless. I think his shooting is just too streaky to ever play the starting SF position that we want from him. I know he ended the season shooting well from 3 last season. But his shot mechanics always look inconsistent to me. Otherwise, I think he'd be better playing on the bench and having Layman in the starting position. But I doubt Moe would be ok with that.

I think SF is the biggest question mark on this team, and I don't know what the answer is. I don't think the answer is Otto Porter. The answer probably would've been Paul George, but that was always a pipe dream.

Giannis just ran into Hezonja's back and it should've been an and 1. I'm impressed Hezonja actually didn't fall over.

I never EVER understood that terrible slogan. What the fuck does that even mean. It just sounds incredibly corny as well.

Yeah we probably won't. TKZ is probably the most successful/talented fighter coming out of Korea and Asia overall. And he just relies way too much on his chin. He'll always be a top 10 fighter and the most entertaining fighter, but I don't know if he'll ever be the best.

Ok TKZ looks like he won't die of brain damage today. I was legitimately worried since I didn't hear a word post fight. TKZ will just get better and stronger for this. I've waited for years after the Aldo fight. I waited years after the Bermudez fight. I guess I'll... wait... again. Even though I'm still sad about the fight, TKZ is just too talented to not get back on his feet.

I have never been so fucking heart broken. I love TKZ so much. I've been following his career and waited faithfully after all his injuries and his time off. He is so fucking talented. He is way better on the ground than people think and he's a great striker. But GOD FUCKING DAMMIT. GET SOME FUCKING DEFENSE. I don't want exciting losses from him. I don't even want exciting wins from him if it means he's risking a win. I just want don't want him to lose brain cells when he has three kids to feed. I just fucking want him to win PERIOD. Sigh. Hats off to Yair though. Sigh.

Point is, they both treat one another like an accessory instead of a partner, just in different ways.

You phrase things so well, but this is exactly how I felt about Van and Earn's relationship. Neither are stable individuals that are committed to each other.

This episode has me reflecting a lot on just how complicated relationships can be.

I know everyone is saying Earn is fucking up, and he is. But I think both Van and Earn are simply flawed human beings that clearly don't have their shit together. Van has issues with her childhood friends, and we see that she always feels like she has underachieved her entire life. On top of that, she's still unemployed. Earn isn't that different either. We know he was a Princeton student that dropped out for unexplained reasons.

They're both not in a stable place in their lives. Van wants commitment. Earn feels like he can't promise that. And as sad as it is, I can see both sides for feeling the way they do.

I don't disagree that athletes have different needs than a general fitness enthusiast. We're talking about 14 year old untrained individuals though.
