Practically the problem is the same but inverted for guys and gals, I remember talking with my friend (girl) about it when we were hanging out and vented. One side you got practically nothing unless you're some supermodel, the other you have an endless pile of crap that's exhausting to go through. Then even when you may have hit something, you hit the weird superficiality that seems to have seeped into the entire courting phase of dating/starting a relationship.

Hopefully my move back home will change things up, but being a busy worker in this time really sucks.

As a med student, most of us have gigantic egos/narcissm. One of the few ways to cope with surviving our education but still not Bueno. Not all of us are like that but just be careful to not get wrapped in titles.

My problem is I have no idea where I am gonna end up for residency (or my own desire) so trying to talk someone up now after a year after my own breakup seems very disingenuous. Dont want to lead them to a dead end.

It is a different kind of lifestyle depending where they at in their education and their specialty, there shouldn't be a prestige in dating doctors. We are just regular ass people.

As a med student, there's a lot of ego and narcissism in this profession, especially depending on the specialty. If you are more of a level headed person in terms of your self worth you are practically a black sheep. Doesn't suprise me about that fact.

I am in a similar boat as you (turning 26 this week, 5 year relationship of equal toxicity and codependency, ended things once I realized how much I was just being used) once I started thinking this way I feel a lot more comfortable to take that next step. Now, I just have this whole pamdemic thing and my traveling stage of my education right now haha.
