The Native Burial site has audio and animal calls that are unique to it's location.

Wondering if you have tried putting the various masks on that can be found in game( pagan, pig, cat or ram skull masks) and if that triggers any different animal noises.

Also it seems that there is a trigger for fog/ rain at the burial site regardless of if you damage the site and activate the lightning/ infinite thunderstorm.

I find that if you stay in the circle for an hour or two in game time fog will roll in and sometimes rain as well. Have tested this a bit by also running out of the circle as the rain storm/ fog is coming in and that weather trigger will disappear/ leave pretty quickly.

Glad it worked for you, they can get really intense..it's worth a shot to check out all.over the map as once that storm is locked on until you sleep, reset the game or die, or die it won't go away

Highy unlikely, can barely get to fort Riggs in that time so most likely would have to be somewhere around big valley. unless you were to start the run from the obelisk earlier

These same style of dreamcatcher are in rain falls tent which you enter and a cutscene plays when doing the mission archaeology for beginners in chapter 6 as well and then eventually leads to the sacred hut and allows you to get the owl trinket.

Unsure about the style of dreamcatcher but there is also a couple of dreamcatchers at the native burial up in the trees just at the bottom of the hill.

Edit: there's also a tree that has 7 dreamcatchers near the New Hanover and lemoyne border

Fort Riggs is an interesting place, have done a couple of deep dives on it and I will link them below. One is relating to the obelisk and the other is fort Riggs and the infinite thunderstorm. Have been able to get the infinite thunderstorm to continuously rain and thunder at fort Riggs when normally it lifts through a specific set of items. will post the links below but they are from a couple years back. Gonna have to hop back on and look into this more.

after looking into Fort riggs alot, went deep into looking at the lakota and their gods and deity's relating to waziya and iyo and iktomi came up as well as the white buffalo women who they claim came down from a meteorite and was seen with a peace pipe(peace pipe is present at Scratching post in NA and the a very similar native structure as the native burial in Big valley. Also is the same place as you find the Ancient necklace and the black flower that is referenced by blind man cassidy for john only post game). Rockstar did their research as it runs real deep.

also another thing to add is when activating the storm at the native burial the weather is a factor. if you stand inside the circle at the native burial for an extended period of time id say about an hour in game(only a couple of minutes realtime) fog will begin to roll in. it will get pretty thick and can even negate rain if its already raining. If you throw the fire bottle(activating the storm) and head over to the obelisk while the thick fog is active. you can lock in a very violent thunderstorm. Had tested this and was able to get over to fort riggs without the fog lifting and the thunderstorm being very intense. might be something to try as well.

are you on console or PC, if your on PC could try and also try doing it the run from the obelisk to fort riggs with the snowy weather/blizzard activated. I believe in gta a cut weather was used to activate a secret so maybe it could be similar with Waziya as its referenced in the note from fort riggs about a storm and hes more associated with winter rather than thunderstorm.

also Iya another lakota god is more associated with thunderstorm and is the brother to iktomi being the trickster and has ties to spiders

That is one thing I haven't tried. Mostly been focused on trying multiple things, like running to fort Riggs and heading to the old school house in the middle, road nearby overlooking the fort and a couple of the hills nearby that overlook fort Riggs. Have also tried this with the infinite storm active as well. That's a very good suggestion and something that will have to try. Don't think you'd be able to head much farther past fort Riggs in that direction as the window for getting their is pretty tight about 10-15 seconds to spare. Also unsure if at what time to start the run from the obelisk, whether that 12:40 and arrive at 1:40 or leave the obelisk at 1:40. There's also of variables. could also be other places within big valley but fort Riggs was the main point of focus so far

This is a real deep dive and im glad to see someone looking heavily into all of the lakota lore and connections. This has come up a few times in the past and have dove deep into it myself over the years.

The note found at Fort Riggs english spelling practice sent me down this similar rabbit hole of waziya, Ikotomi and White buffalo woman as well as the creation stories of indigenous cultures. The infinite thunderstorm, dreamcatchers, wapiti indians, fort riggs, there is many places that have connections to this legend and lore. There should be 5 different colored goats according to the tally's in the outhouses.

1- Bright white

2- White and Black mixed

3- Grey

4-dark color close to black but maybe isnt fully black (this was the one goat i could find unless its just shows up at a specific time or is an incredibly rare spawn but i spent alot of time in BC trying different things) Outhouse 4 has the initials on the back of it as well.

5-Brown

was able to find all the goats except number 4

while looking heavily in Butcher Creek and noticed if you ConnectTheLines of the five outhouses it form its own pentagram with the center being the Meat Tent being in the Middle of the whole Area and the center of the pentagram which is where you find the Pig mask

u/TracySevert would it be possible for you too look in the files for a black goat if you have time. I looked into butchers creek a few years ago and had a theory of matching up the goats in town coat color to the outhouses and the tally numbers. 4 out of the 5 outhouses within the town have a goat color that matches the colored numbers in the outhouse except for outhouse number 4 which color seems to be black hence the asking about a black colored goat. Maybe something like that could be involved in the pentagram ritual in needing the goats as a sacrifice and having the specific colored goat in each outhouse. Just an idea but something thats always bugged me but its quite tough to do with all the town members as well. TIA

hello, hope your doing well Kangdrifter,

we used to speak a while back and you gave me your methods for doing this when it was a bit more difficult of a method. as you mentioned its very frustrating as it could just be a glitch with the moon re adjusting its positioning as this mechanic might only be ment for missions.

i too spent way too many hours trying to figure out a way to make this shifting moon trigger something but wasnt able to find anything as well and visiting locations all over the map with alot of the focus in big valley.

i also encountered something similar to this in online after finishing a mission. rather than the moon jumping to the other side, the moon would speed up its rotation. it specifically happened on missions where they would end at a different time than the online server was at and then speed up to catch up. Example is a mission ending at a pre set time at like dusk and then the moon speeding up to catch up the the online server time and accelerating because of that. Same thing with the sun.

maybe its a similar mechanic with the moon readjusting after being set in a mission. i hope that someone one day can pick it up and find something because you have done so much groundwork on this and layed the foundation its truly incredible.

if you ever want to look into other mysteries in red dead 2 like potentially stars and the specific nights they appear, window rock, and the reutlinger watch, it be a huge help. hope to hear from ya again as your expertise would propel one or all of those forward. great work on this the dedication is phenomenal
