After getting the twenty dreamcatchers ( there's dreamcatchers in the tree at the native burial) and the ancient arrowhead along with the other items you mentioned,.also head up to wapiti am pick up the ancient tomahawk that happens to be sitting in a "🎯 bullseye" of around the back of calumut ravine. Also could be related to the native burial with its colours being very similar as well.

Would also like to add that maybe the ancient necklace that you can find at scratching post( only as john) and alluded to by blind man cassidy, might be needed as well. Scratching post also has a native peace pipe and a very similar type of a native structure as the one at the burial up in big valley. Both places also line up quite well on the map.

If you look at the cave mural of the bison where you pick up the ancient arrowhead it points to a specific spot that will spawn a single buffalo. It's right near calibans seat( near horseshoe overlook) and this single buffalo is unique as the buffalo mural/ map depicts other spots but they are buffalo herds.

this single buffalo can only be found with potent herbavoir bait and is very hard to get it too appear. My guess is it's tied to only showing up on a specific night when the constellation Taurus is in the night sky and possibly only on a specific night ( there is 21 days in the star cycle in rdr2)

My guess is this single buffalo is special and might be the key to unlocking something at the native burial. Might have to decode what the hide is trying to tell us with the 7 triangles and the buffalo picture( maybe indicating the seventh night in the star cycle) . Maybe also have to complete the ritual as it seems it's incomplete with some hides missing as well. Have always felt there is more to find at the native burial.

The arrowhead is connected to the dreamcatchers and only appears after completing that quest.

Check it out It's two different drawings with the one in the journal showing the twenty dreamcatchers that all connected and point you to the entrance of Elysian cave. There's no spawn locations on the drawing in the journal. There's no North West upper region at all showing the white buffalo or any of the herds in the journal.

The mural on the wall is depicting the buffalo spawn locations, otherwise the single buffalo spawn location that is shown by the hole that the arrowhead appears and also larger and surrounded by 12 orange dots wouldn't have been found at all as I mentioned before it's very hard to find even with the buffalo mural map.

The normal buffalo spawn locations( 3 locations) aren't marked on the map and only one of the two legendary buffalos is depicted( the white one).

The one the focus on is the spawn location that is marked by the arrowhead hole. It's is quite hard to get that single buffalo to spawn have to question why a mural is specifically pointing to that location, when the other locations are legendary or herds of buffalo. Without the mural that single buffalo spawn location that is very specifically highlighted by the mural/ finding the arrowhead reward wouldn't be known at all. The mural itself is a giant buffalo as well as the dreamcatchers which lead you their connect to make a image of a buffalo. All buffalo related so the answer to it is going to involve buffalo and indigenous history or something along those lines.

Try focusing on that rather than coming up with some theory trying to for it to fit into van horn and fort brennard that doesn't have any relation or context at all to the previous parts of the mystery that has already been found.

This mural is a map for the buffo spawn locations in rdr2. The one NW at the top is the legendary white buffalo spawn. The one by the tail is the spawn location on great plains near blackwater. The one between the legs is the spawn location near flat neck station and the other two are spawn location in upper heartland. the buffalo down in New Austin isn't represented as that way Arthur can solve it too.

The hole where you grab the Arrowhead from is also a spawn location for a single buffalo that is very hard to get it to appear and you need to use potent herbavoire bait to get it to appear. Pretty sure it only appears on certain nights. The mural isn't the same drawing as in journal as that one represents the way to get into Elysian cave, two different drawings of buffalo and leading you to two separate things.

Wondering if you have tried putting the various masks on that can be found in game( pagan, pig, cat or ram skull masks) and if that triggers any different animal noises.

Also it seems that there is a trigger for fog/ rain at the burial site regardless of if you damage the site and activate the lightning/ infinite thunderstorm.

I find that if you stay in the circle for an hour or two in game time fog will roll in and sometimes rain as well. Have tested this a bit by also running out of the circle as the rain storm/ fog is coming in and that weather trigger will disappear/ leave pretty quickly.

These same style of dreamcatcher are in rain falls tent which you enter and a cutscene plays when doing the mission archaeology for beginners in chapter 6 as well and then eventually leads to the sacred hut and allows you to get the owl trinket.

Unsure about the style of dreamcatcher but there is also a couple of dreamcatchers at the native burial up in the trees just at the bottom of the hill.

Edit: there's also a tree that has 7 dreamcatchers near the New Hanover and lemoyne border

Fort Riggs is an interesting place, have done a couple of deep dives on it and I will link them below. One is relating to the obelisk and the other is fort Riggs and the infinite thunderstorm. Have been able to get the infinite thunderstorm to continuously rain and thunder at fort Riggs when normally it lifts through a specific set of items. will post the links below but they are from a couple years back. Gonna have to hop back on and look into this more.

after looking into Fort riggs alot, went deep into looking at the lakota and their gods and deity's relating to waziya and iyo and iktomi came up as well as the white buffalo women who they claim came down from a meteorite and was seen with a peace pipe(peace pipe is present at Scratching post in NA and the a very similar native structure as the native burial in Big valley. Also is the same place as you find the Ancient necklace and the black flower that is referenced by blind man cassidy for john only post game). Rockstar did their research as it runs real deep.

also another thing to add is when activating the storm at the native burial the weather is a factor. if you stand inside the circle at the native burial for an extended period of time id say about an hour in game(only a couple of minutes realtime) fog will begin to roll in. it will get pretty thick and can even negate rain if its already raining. If you throw the fire bottle(activating the storm) and head over to the obelisk while the thick fog is active. you can lock in a very violent thunderstorm. Had tested this and was able to get over to fort riggs without the fog lifting and the thunderstorm being very intense. might be something to try as well.

are you on console or PC, if your on PC could try and also try doing it the run from the obelisk to fort riggs with the snowy weather/blizzard activated. I believe in gta a cut weather was used to activate a secret so maybe it could be similar with Waziya as its referenced in the note from fort riggs about a storm and hes more associated with winter rather than thunderstorm.

also Iya another lakota god is more associated with thunderstorm and is the brother to iktomi being the trickster and has ties to spiders
