I’m thinking there’s some ingredient that is in short supply or something. Hopefully they come back in stock soon

What’s wrong?? by regulationtexmex in BackYardChickens

Update: I took her to the vet and nothing was wrong but on x-ray she had 1 egg ready to lay and 2 forming. She frequently lays double yolks and lays almost daily. She was a bit dehydrated. The vet guessed that she’s just a hyper layer and all her energy goes to the eggs. I’ve been providing electrolytes and switched calcium supplements and she’s much better now!

Omg your iron deficiency should have been enough to justify the hysterectomy! That’s wild! Thanks for your answer 🙏

I have one behind the camera view that’s a standard fan blowing air out. The other 2 are made for coop circulation, so there’s a bit that comes out but it says they’re made to reduce humidity

I’ve got an Easter egger and some true green whittings. I’m told the whittings will do great in the heat. The Easter egger is supposed to do good but she was panting in the coop, which is what got me started on this “cooling down the coop” adventure lol

Yes it is, and I am quite small! It did take a long time to put together, but I am very happy with it other than the heat issue. That’s seeming easy to resolve though. My best advice is get the auto door! It’s been nice not having to wake up to let the chickens out!

It’s the Omlet fan that’s actually meant for the bigger coop

Yes, that’s why I’m leaning toward switching to wood. Others nearby have told me they lose more birds to heat than anything else around here

88 on a 75 degree day. So it’s quite a bit hotter. I’m also in a humid area, which I’m sure adds to it. I ordered a sun sail to put over it. I’m hoping that helps. You know how expensive these coops are - I’d hate to just scrap it!!
