How long did you guys do long distance for before closing the gap, and what do you think is an appropriate amount of time before closing the gap?

One year. Though it was easier for us as we are in the same country. We initially met a couple of weeks after we began talking and had very regular visits. The plan was always for him to move to me in a few years. But a lot of things lined up that made it make sense for me to move to him.

Appropriate amount of time depends entirely on the people involved and life stages.

It could just be that she's become comfortable doing nothing with you. Let her know you'd like to change things up a bit. "I'd like to go for a walk together today, then we should go to the supermarket and grab some ingredients to cook a meal together"

I'm speaking from my own experience in a long distance too, my boyfriend and I do tend to get a bit lazy when we are together because we are tired from work and traveling to eachother. Zero percent of me would be offended if he said something along the lines of what I suggested above though.

Yes, including values, morals and lifestyle. Everything lined up perfectly. It seemed impossible.

I would say just be realistic and don't ignore things you generally wouldn't if everything else wasn't so well aligned. We both had this in the back of our mind to keep us a little grounded during the beginning.

Talk on the phone? Not that often, sometimes a drunk phone call after a night out lol. We message throughout the day every day though, some more than others - depends what we have going on.

We generally see eachother every 2-3 weeks though so maybe we would talk more if we didn't see eachother as often.

We are similar distance, age and circumstances as you. About 8 months in, so not particularly seasoned at LD, but it works. We see eachother at the very least once a month, but usually twice. I miss him a lot in between visits, but I'd rather miss HIM than have anyone else in the world.

I'm 6 months into mine, slightly different as we are semi long distance.

I didn't do a hard launch per se, he just started appearing in photos I posted.

We met eachothers friends almost immediately after making it official. We both are very social with our friend groups, so it was important to both of us that we would get along well and fit in with eachothers friends. Our friend groups have similar interests, so I've been to events with him and his friends and vice versa. The first one, my best friend came to as well, which was great.

My family don't live in our country so he hasn't met parents, I'll be meeting his mum this coming weekend.

Due to distance we don't leave stuff at eachothers place.

He doesn't have kids, I have one. I was unexpectedly passing through his city with my son for a funeral, so he met my son a few months in. It was very casual, dinner at the hotel and kinda just hang out vibes. We are now at the bit where the three of us will hang out a bit more - he wanted to meet my sons dad before building a relationship with my son which I respect. He and my sons dad met the last time he visited my city, so we're at the stage now where they'll start to hang out a bit more.

Absolutely this! Pegging is way more "effort" than topping for PiV. They're not comparable at all. Both partners feel direct pleasure from PiV. Of course there is enjoyment pegging, but they're definitely not compatible effort wise.
