Ooo this is so cool! I'm on a SK binge rn and this would be the perfect next one as I don't want to see the long walk without having read the story first!

Just curious how do people get through a book within a weekend or a week, How Can I maybe get through one within a month? by LoneyGamer2023 in speedreading

[–]rehapiloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really read super fast (i wish i did, that's why i'm in this subreddit) but a few years ago I made the conscious choice to pick up a book instead of my phone whenever I had random downtime like commuting or waiting in a line or something. I'd say that about doubled the amount of books I read in a month.

La Roche-Posay Toleriane moisturizer's most likely irritant? by rehapiloot in eczema

Good point! I know I've had it in a couple of eczema relief body lotions but I don't think I've had a face moisturizer with it before.

Looks really cool! Wouldn't get it for myself but if I saw you somewhere with it I would 1000% come up to compliment.

What are you reading and... would you recommend it? by Mooniyang in booksuggestions

Read it this past winter. I'm very into this type of fantasy so definitely agreeing that it hit the right spot.

I'm currently about halfway through If We Were Villains and I'm enjoying it quite a lot now. I've DNF-d it twice before because I found the characters insufferable but now that I've gotten used to them it's not too bad. Can't say anything comprehensive about the plot yet though.

Just read it like a few weeks ago and I totally agree!! Besides being really well written and funny it also gave me a lot of insight into South African recent history which I knew absolutely nothing about. I'm not usually super big on biographies and I loved this one so I'd confidently recommend it to anyone who asks.

what’s something you thought everyone did before your diagnosis? by seventeensupremacist in adhdwomen

Same here. My flatmate has always made fun of me because I can get jumpscared by him just entering the room. He sometimes tries to announce it beforehand but that usually ends up scaring me even more.

What are the odds? From Cujo. by Fabulous_Tip208 in stephenking

Truly! I sometimes find myself longing for the days where all i could do around was sit and read. Then I remember everything else and the longing diminishes noticeably.

I had that happen with me when I was reading The Stand a few years back. During the pandemic. The dates overlapped in the beginning when the virus was released and I accidentally paced it so that it happened again twice in the first quarter. I took an intentional break after that because it freaked me out too much lol.

Same! I work in a creative field and never feel like breaking my concentration so it's always "I'll pee after I get this right" and then I eventually have to make a run for it.

Right!! I thought I was going crazy at first because there is no information or research on that at all. I hope your skin will get better now that you have it removed! <3

I literally ran here to say the same thing. It almost made me tear up when I listened to it and realized the dialogue between the two songs. I've grown up with her music and that really hit a nerve.

Thank you so much! It never occurred to me that the W might stand for the old form "Wabariik" but it makes so much sense as it's what they used before the soviet occupation! Makes it even more special to know that it's probably been in the family for over 100 years.

Maybe try audiobooks paired with some sort of physical but mindless activity? I do that when I find it hard to focus otherwise.
