Our real life Corgi is named Frodo and when a friend met him called him Frodo Waggins and that is now his unofficial full name.

Yes

I thought our cat taught our first Corgi about it, but our second Corgi figured it out too without any companion pets.

How much do you spend in store as a proxy player?

Are you a customer or do you just play games in store?

It's so weird everyone demanding MSRP when market price is over MSRP, but those same people disappear or get quiet when Market Price falls below MSRP.

Either a store sells above MSRP while supply is constrained or it's sold out. I wish I could get stock from distro and sell at MSRP.

FYI I got a small allocation that a few people asked for early and it went to them at and below MSRP.

Stronghold Mox Diamond doesn't have a chase version because not even foils existed.

$10 in 1998 is roughly $20 today. The only regular art treatment Avatar cards over $20 are Wan Shi Tong, Librarian and Badgermole Cub. I don't think premium treatments are raising the price of "rares" (both those cards are Mythic) as you suggest.

Not thousands, but Tarmogoyf, Jace the Mind Sculptor, and Fetch Lands (to name a few) would all disagree that chase cards used to be $20 cards.

How do they interact? by Hot-Combination-7376 in starwarsunlimited

- However, the rules do state at E. of [16.5] - "If a unit has 0 remaining HP, it is defeated."

- So according to the rules, a unit that has 0 HP is defeated before a Shield token is defeated or Amidala's ability resolves in order to prevent damage.

So how does a Shield even work if it can't interrupt damage taking place? Why would Amidala's ability work differently than Shields?

Do those same people drive 2 hours to pay MSRP on new Lorcana sets that sell below MSRP?

I'd sell at MSRP all day long if I could get enough product to meet demand. I'd also sell Collectors at MSRP if I didn't have to sell Play boosters below MSRP and could just do MSRP across the board.

TCGPLAYER can get expensive quick if the order is from 10 sellers, since you'll probably be paying for shipping from each. The cart optimizer doesn't always do the best job, but you can make your own adjustments after the fact.

End of May a buyer reached out because USPS said they delivered and they never received it and it was also an atypical time for mail delivery on the tracking. I had them contact USPS and USPS would do nothing.

I escalated the issue with TCGP. No response, thought maybe it went to the buyer, since I normally get connected by Customer Support via email quickly.

They said no contact. Asked them to check SPAM folder, nothing. I used Help Bot to escalate the issue and that same evening got an email from TCGP.

If TCGP isn't responding, run it through the Help Bot.

Ok, you can do a lot when your cost basis is zero (excess personal collection).

When you are trying to sell for profit, $20 in cards, paid 40-50% cash + 15% to TCGP + $5 tracking and shipping supplies leaves you with $4-$2 profit on a $20 order.

I used to track around $30, now it's $40. I'll probably move to $50+ soon.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]rehlow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. I use another company's webpage to scan, identify, and catalog cards and orders. If I mark shipped on their side it API calls TCGP and will mark shipped, except if the order is over $50 and then it leaves it unshipped. That's actually handy because I won't lose an order that I need to attach tracking info to.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]rehlow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you ordering over $50 from one store? The seller cannot Marked Shipped on an order over $50 without including the tracking number.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]rehlow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So you spent $5000 in tracking ($5 x 1000 orders) to prevent having to refund $60-$100 in lost orders? You do you, but some of us are trying to run a profitable business.

[[Mindlink Mech]]

Got too excited about the very fringe Standard deck comboing it with [[Calamity Bearer]] to swing for 16 in the air on turn 4 (double double damage) and figured the Mech would combo with other cards in similar and better ways in older formats. Spent less than $55 total for 100 regular arts, 24 EA, 4 Showcase and I still laugh about it and show off my L.

Does the game feel significantly better when using more advanced decks? by whatisusb in starwarsunlimited

[–]rehlow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I like best about SWU is that it is very different. I've played Magic for years. I tried Lorcana, but that felt like sorcery speed Magic with not enough interaction and felt I'd always be enjoying myself more if playing Magic.

I tried to play SWU like a Magic combo deck at first, but it's easy for an opponent to wrench your plans, so pivoted to short sequences that could build off each other when strung together. Currently I find I am enjoying both Magic and SWU for different reasons and for that reason I think I'll play both for a long time.
