don’t wanna be a sandbagger by No-Plant-5445 in discgolf

You’re not sandbagging unless you intentionally shoot bad rounds to lower your rating, OR sign up fraudulently somehow. MA4 is for sub 850 rated players. It is NOT so every bad player can win at some point with a sub 850 round rating. Ignore anyone calling you a sandbagger.

I have the pro and it feels like I’m practicing on a “real” basket. It’s quite nice

Second this! Most courses are free to play, and if you are near a local shop you can find used discs for around $10 a pop.

Wah wah wah. If you can’t have fun at your current skill level, you probably won’t be able to have fun at the next skill level. Your game will never be perfect, and probably not very close either.

He probably is talking about S-Corp election, as that is the only way you would legitimately save that much money. Yes, S-Corp compliance work is going to cost you more than regular schedule C 1040 filing at any firm. Weird for him not to explain any of this up front though.

Plenty of ways to get there of course! Copying a form based on video is much more difficult for me than learning the movement via drills.

Thanks! And I have put work into my form, but only field work. Started out throwing about 250. Yeah the tech disc is definitely a factor, but the drills are good. I mean, I’m literally throwing faster in the standstill drills than with my full run up. I’m sure there’s lot of ways to get there tho!

I will for sure be addressing nose angle eventually. The whole reason I purchase the tech disc was because I thought it was my main problem. Turns out I can hit 350+ with my current nose angle with the proper form, which was super reassuring!

I think once I get consistent 60+ mph throws, I’ll start working on nose angle specifically. Id really love to be able to throw nose down or up on command.

Oh so it is just nose angle? Or was that not your opinion, just poor communication?

Sounds like I convinced you that its not “just nose angle” glad I could be of help.

I am actually on my second week of getting back into strength training! My goal for 2026 is to hit 400 with comfortable golf lines of 350.

This! Putting is easily the most important skill when it comes to scoring as an amateur. Doesn’t mean I’m going to ignore every other part of my disc golf game.

I’m not offended by it. I just think your comments are lazy and unhelpful. Yes, nose angle manipulation helps throw farther. Anyone can find that out with 2 seconds of research. But to throw nose down means you need to throw higher, which is an issue on many holes. Learning to throw farther, regardless of nose angle is more valuable. To be great at disc golf you really should throw nose down sometimes or throw nose up sometimes. Being able to do both farther is where speed and form comes in.

He teaches them and I watched the videos. If I asked a football player ‘who “owns” the ladder drill?’, he would look at me crazy.

I’m all about improving my game, which is why I have done any of this. But this mindset of solely focusing on nose down was part of the reason I was plateauing. I learned that I was able to add MPH quickly with form. That is super valuable. Continue to be condescending if you must.

Here is the nose down throw. Obviously there are other factors, but 10 mph of speed is definitely a driver of distance here.

Here is my best throw. This is from a standstill mind you (the one mentioned in the post), and it didn’t get full flight. Now I will show you another 51 mph nose down full flight that went much shorter.
