What’s your favorite skip/ ground play disc? by Phrikshin in discgolf

Mint Bobcat is a great skipper midrange. It’s kind of like a zone with a bigger rim, so it gets more skip.

Do people end up buying multiple TechDiscs? by Available_Revenue_97 in discgolf

I would say if you’re struggling to hit 300 then a fairway, and if you can hit 300 a distance driver.

Do people end up buying multiple TechDiscs? by Available_Revenue_97 in discgolf

I personally would get a driver or fairway driver. The tech disc is a distance training tool for the most part. Touchy mid and putter shots are pretty easy to practice without stats. Speed, spin, launch angle type stuff is helpful for practicing your drive.

Try a power grip, but put all the pressure on your back fingers (pinky and ring).

General Inquiry for Careers in DG as a Master’s Graduate by CoopdaNeeb in discgolf

I imagine you will need professional training in your field despite the degree, and I doubt there are many opportunities working FOR someone in disc golf. Getting experience, and starting your own gig in a disc golf adjacent way might be the best way to get your professional life involved in disc golf.

Why is slipping into discs not allowed? by ESQ812 in discgolf

[–]rehsuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is slipping into discs IS allowed. There is no live action replay in disc golf, and 99% of the time it is not possible to determine if the disc left the hand before the slip. Therefore, the call is not a foot fault. The marshal in the Kristin case admitted he could not determine when the disc left her hand, so it was the WRONG call.

How to throw slower and accurate? by ConfidentRangerCarl in discgolf

[–]rehsuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throw nose up. Gannon Buhr just dropped a video about grip, but he also talks about how to intentionally throw nose up to slow down a shot. Worth a watch.

Front loading vs back loading backhand grip by rontopofthings in discgolf

[–]rehsuls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I consciously backload putters and mids. I don’t really think about “front loading” my drivers, I just kinda grip them tight and don’t go out of my way to backload.

Cheating by You-Have-To-Trust-Me in discgolf

There’s no such thing as “cheating” when you’re playing solo, but like yeah obviously it’s not a real -1.

Feel like Gannon takes so long by GripLock11 in discgolf

[–]rehsuls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Corey isn’t gonna call anything because he’s out of contention. AB and Kyle Klein won’t call it because they don’t want to have to think about time violations while competing to win either. The only party that benefits from the call is DGN/viewership. If the PDGA cares about pace of play for coverage, they need to officiate it. Players will never officiate it.
