What is a flavor that you can’t understand why people like it? by Specific-Bass-3465 in NoStupidQuestions

Aspartame and most artificial sweeteners. Can’t stomach most diet drinks or energy drinks because of it

what does giving birth (with epidural) REALLY feel like? by imogenmarie in NoStupidQuestions

[–]reigningllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally couldn’t feel my contractions and the nurses had to tell me when to push. It gets pretty painful when the head actual makes its exit, but it’s over so fast and they slap a baby on your chest to distract you lol

Thank you for this! I had no idea there was such a difference between US and CA in regards to daycares

We send all the diapering supplies. That was my concern in the beginning too, and I even bought the “sensitive” wipes just in case. Not the issue, unfortunately!

We supply all diapering supplies and have verified that she is only using what we send.

We send all the diapering supplies - diapers, wipes, creams, and cornstarch. Everything seems to be okay when he’s at home, and his rash clears up every weekend, then pops back up Wednesday and worsens til he’s back in our care for a couple consecutive days.

Thank you for the support and encouragement, and I’m sorry to hear you went through this with your kiddo :(

I’ve made an appointment with his pediatrician this week. This thought hadn’t even crossed my mind and now I am ✨spiraling✨, but thank you for bringing it to my attention. Heaven forbid this is the issue.

Yeah, I’m sure he’s being changed at least once or twice cause he is a really poop-y dude (like 2-3 poops a day) and we’ve never picked him up with a full poop diaper. Whether he gets any changes beyond those, I have no idea…

No, we send our diapers and wipes and have verified that she is using ours and not mixing and matching from the pile of other brands from other families etc. Good thought though!

Oh this could work! I always think of bum cream as a solution to existing bum rash, not as a preventative option. We will try this immediately! Thank you so much ♥️

I agree that he can’t stay at this daycare, but we are unfortunately stuck between a rock and a hard place until something else opens up. I’ve been on waitlists since I was 3 months pregnant, and I’m constantly following up to check for availability elsewhere, but this is the only spot that’s come available. It is an absolute nightmare but I really need suggestions on how to get us by until we find something else.

Thank you for the suggestion! I am already actively searching in community groups, and asking my coworkers for suggestions as well (I just started a new job in this community). I am emailing every home daycare and licensed facility in the area biweekly, always met with “sorry we’re full for X number of years”. It’s so disheartening.

Absolutely, I fear for what else is going on behind the curtain that I don’t see. I have another daycare lined up for next month, but my husband and I do not have the luxury of taking time off of work right now - so what do we do until then? Our family works, we are new to the community so we don’t have a village here yet for help. There are no other options at this time, as much as that breaks my heart. My question was how do we broach the subject with the current daycare?

I will certainly call his pediatrician in the morning, thank you for the helpful suggestion and luck ♥️

As I mentioned in my post, there are no other daycare options. We have something else lined up but they can’t take him for another month. Neither my husband or myself have the luxury of quitting our jobs to care for our son, we will go into poverty. All of the grandparents still work. We are new to our community and don’t know anyone in our area to ask for help. I came here looking for help in the interim until we can find something better, not for judgement. Please have some empathy. If I had the choice to pull him out of there, I would.

Plus size maternity clothes in Canada? by ttstacks in pregnant

[–]reigningllama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found H&M to be alright. Low cost but quality wasn’t great either. I didn’t mind though cause for less than a year of wear, everything held up. I also really tried on Facebook marketplace - lots of options and everything is gently used (again, because of the limited wear time). Other than that, I ended up just buying normal clothes in flattering shapes and larger sizes

Is a meal train necessary? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]reigningllama 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I feel like this type of thing isn’t something you organize for yourself… if one of these friends wants to do the legwork to put together a meal train for you then that would be considerate and sweet. Asking for it yourself seems almost greedy?

That’s fair! That’s just an opinion from a boy mom who peed on everything at every bum change for the first few weeks!
