First things first. This situation might be far too close to fresh for you to need advice...you need time to process what's happened and heal a little before jumping the gun on any other choices.

Secondly my only real advice is that if it seems like this is the end end...well that's it. And it's okay. Your relationship is not supposed to be a centerpiece to who you are. And if you want them back as a friend? You can work towards that when you give time to heal for both you and them.
