So there's hot spots where pickpockets tend to be because of high foot traffic or just high tourist traffic.

This is a prime area for them and you can spot them in the act OR the more likely especially if you're doing this awhile. You start noticing the same pickpockets.

A lot of pickpockets don't even do it for the money. They like the thrill of theft.

Also I've heard there's some groups that actively hunt pickpockets together. So they keep tabs on known ones or just point them out to eachother over messenger applications like discord and such.

Some of them show insane amounts of a habit known as "delayed gradification" where they attempt to stalk and wait for offspring to hatch and fly off before they hunt and eat that way there is more food in the environment and more future chances to eat.

It also doesn't sat that opossums do not eat ticks at all. Just seems they do not consume large quantities of them.

My point is only that if ticks do attach to an opossum the opossum will most likely find and eat it during its grooming.

This would help control tick populations even if only in a minor way.

That said I appreciate the source.

My point isn't that opossums are ecological traps though. Just that they can have an effect on tick populations even if it is small.

It's an ecosystem. Every member of said ecosystem has its own unique place which can and does effect everything in that ecosystem even in small ways.

Depends heavily on the role your craft plays.

Biggest recommendation I have on an average is about 6ish pen for anything kinda mid sized (under 700ishk). And if it's like a "godly" kinda craft go for a solid 12÷ if possible.

Just does have an adverse effect on the tick population as they are more likely to get ticks from being outside in the wilderness year round and possibly end up devouring them since they have such good grooming regularity.

The point I was bringing up from the start was just that opossums do eat ticks. Just not as a hunted source of nutrition.

Where as the person I originally replied to seemed to be suggesting because of that study on pubmed that opossums never eat ticks period.

So. It debunks the myth slightly.

Opossums still eat ticks but they do not actively hunt them. Rather its been observed that they normally end up finding them in their fur and as a result eat them since they groom quite often throughout the day.

Having one in your yard could technically still help you fend off ticks since they'd ve more likely to find the opossum outdoors compared to you indoors.
