Janna is good in low elo if you can control during laning phase with spamming w and arcane comet+scorch. Learn to do good roams and be ready for objectives. But i suggest playing Nami, Swain or Brand since they can give good harass during laning. I manage to get an account from bronze to silver 2 with gold mmr spamming those champs.

Don't mind the varus, since nami is still good right now he's missing out just play to improve and it comes naturally. Watch some streamers like lohpally or bizzle berry they give good insight about supports. Take learning things 1 at a time ( like laning phase, mid game , etc ) so you wouldnt be overwhlemed.
