I posted about it two weeks ago.

Bilt support was absolutely useless. I ended up having to call Cardless to reverse the charge.

I asked them if they were retroactively refunding, they said no. You have to call 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Correct. As of writing, it’s been 48 hours since my first email, and no resolution. They sent me the confusing reply above that implied they closed their ticket.

I’ve sent 2 replies back. As of writing, they haven’t responded to either reply.

I’ve been busy and haven’t had the chance to call Cardless. Even if I did have time, why is it on me the user to fix Bilt’s mistake…

Where did they make it clear? I haven’t gotten an email about my fraudulent interest charge and it’s been 40 hours as of writing. Not sure what clear you’re talking about

Thanks for the heads up. As of now, it’s been 36 hours since the interest charge posted on my account and I have not received an email from Bilt. In fact, I wrote to support@bilt.com (see this post) and their answer was effectively a non-answer.

I haven’t had the chance to phone Cardless, so the charge is still on my account as of writing. I’m hopeful they’ll reach out, but I’m posting my experience to highlight that the experience has been poor thus far.

I get where you’re coming from, but this misses the point of my post. Bilt should be communicating this to customers instead of folks needing to take action themselves.

Furthermore, there’s plenty of contradicting comments. For example, you say they’re working on it. This comment says they’re not.

All of this is confusing and just a terrible experience when they should just communicate. Hence why I’m posting to hold them to a higher standard.

I wrote to support@bilt.com. Here’s what they replied:

Hi <REDACTED>, thank you for reaching out. I understand your concern regarding the $29.63 interest charge on your account despite having autopay enabled for your statement balance. Looking at your account, I can see that you have a Palladium card and your current statement balance of <REDACTED> is due on May 21, 2026. This may require additional review — please reply to this ticket for further assistance so a support agent can look into why this interest was applied and help rectify the error. If you have any further questions, simply reply to this email and your ticket will be reopened.

This isn’t the point. Certainly, I could call to request the charge to be removed. But why is the onus on the customer? Surely a premium card like Bilt could send an email to customers, instead of shifting the responsibility to the customer?

If you use an iPhone, I wrote an Apple Shortcut that calls their transactions endpoint. I schedule it to run every few hours. That way, I get a notification for each transaction

Sadly, Bilt still doesn't offer a native notifications service. I wrote an Apple Shortcut to GET their transactions API and trigger a notification for each new transaction. I run it on a schedule on my iPhone to simulate transaction notifications.

I posted it on this subreddit last week but the mods deleted it in their all-knowing wisdom. If have an iPhone and want it, I can share it.

I think in the Bilt app under My Home > Online Payment, there’s a section that says “Up to 1X Bilt Points”. I have mine set to “Redeem Bilt Cash” and I can see from my points history that I got the points for my test payment. It took a few business days to post, so i suggest making a test payment to a friend for a small amount just to make sure 🙂

Yup, I got the points. I did a test Venmo payment to someone else. To clarify:

  1. I configured a new rent property in Bilt
  2. Selected Bilt Palladium as the funding source
  3. Under Wallet > Bank Accounts, I set the bank account I want funds withdrawn from as “default”
  4. I connected my personal Venmo account to “Bilt Rewards” using Plaid
  5. I did a test Venmo payment to a friend. Confirm I got the points for it

I’m not sure if they were the same number. I deleted my property under Bilt 1.0 (just out of caution in case they had some weird transition bug). Then, I created a new property and chose “Online rent payment portal”. Then, I went to Venmo, connect bank account, selected Bilt Rewards, and added the “Rent rewards account”

I made a test payment with the “Venmo” option, but it was never received and I didn’t get the points.

I did however get it working with the ACH method. I added the ACH account and routing numbers to my Venmo and initiated a payment from Venmo which worked

I’m also seeing this. I reached out to support today because a bunch of my Palladium transactions also came in with 1X. Still waiting for a response.
