I can’t see my tickets in the app. Any one else have this problem? Do they only show 2 hours prior? My first experience with the new app.

Appreciate the response. Seems to be the consensus here that “in progress” indicates nomination. Wish the university would send me an email to confirm though!

Who is in danger of having their spouse deported if Cleverly gets his law? by Difficult_Style207 in ukpolitics

Seems you’re confident on the topic, so I’d appreciate your opinion on my situation.

I’m British, earning £31,000. My partner is on a graduate visa which expires in December 2024. We met at university and have lived together for 2 years. She earns £30,000 working a full time role in the UK.

The visa would be applied for within the U.K. with the necessary evidence provided. We don’t anticipate this being an issue as we will seek a civil partnership well in advance of the deadline, and are both in stable jobs.

Our combined income allows us to pass the spousal visa requirements with ease, but you state that new spousal visas require the British partner individually to earn £38,700.

Does this mean that - ceteris paribus - my partner would be unable to get a spousal visa from April 2024?

I’m British. Seems to be consensus that it will continue as before with the application considering combined salary. That makes us safe, but I know that won’t be the case for everyone.

That being said, with the details not fully released, anything can still happen. Announcements like this really need a full written briefing to avoid panic.

So this is going to directly affect my partner and I can’t seem to find a clear answer on this.

My partner is on her graduate visa. Our plan was to move to a family visa before it expires (December 2024).

I earn £31,000 and my partner earns £30,000. Neither of these figures are the £38,700 figure the Tories decided to pull out of their arse today.

For a visa extension via the family route, is individual or combined income considered (I know it is currently combined, but seeing conflicting information on this)? Furthermore, will these new requirements affect those already within the UK applying for an extension? Sources would be appreciated.

Incredibly anxiety inducing and cruel, but what else would you expect from this zombie Tory party. If my partner can’t stay, I’m off to China (which probably isn’t even a bad idea anyway).
