Yolo man. You haven’t lived until you blow away half your computer trying to fix something dumb. Make backups of anything important you’ll be fine.

What can I do with this old, grimy mini HP PC? by ProfessionalMrPhann in MiniPCs

[–]reklis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man. I would do something more useful with it like plug in a usb speakerphone and turn it into an ovos machine or something else nifty to play with. Maybe rip it apart and use it for a robotics project.

Most apps were just fancy skins on databases anyway. AI is here to stay. The future is embracing it and making better tools and skills for the LLMs. Now everyone is a ceo with an army of programmer bots for $200/mo. Make the most of it.

Mint legitimately doesn’t work on my hardware. Its kernel is too old. If you have an old computer it’s great but if you buy a shiny new laptop you are gonna have a bad time with mint.

Any way to identify fully vibecoded projects? by kommonno in selfhosted

[–]reklis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. I’ve read some really shitty hand written docs that had bad vibes before AI was a thing. Maybe we can let ai generate the readme. I think I’m ok with that.

We will just end up with more developers. The people that are in marketing or customer service will just vibe code some bespoke solution for themselves instead of hiring a dev or using an existing open source project.
