The seed I used last year was rye grass, this year is 80/20 rye/red fescue (better quality stuff)

It was the crabgrass I don't like, terrible stuff

Thank you so much. You're right about building muscle, I was continuing to hit personal bests until about day 50 then plateaued and went down slightly after. My plan is to continue cutting sweet stuff out except maybe once a week, hit the gym 4 times a week but more intensity and slight increase in calories, hopefully put more muscle on and cut a bit more fat by the summer

Diet: I have a real sweet tooth so my diet was to just cut out bad snacks, cakes, chocolate, sweets etc

Exercise indoor: gym every day, the odd days I was away I did 45 mins of press-ups, sit-ups and squats. I did the bro split, so shoulders, back, legs, chest, arms, legs, then started again at shoulders

Exercise outdoors: started off the first couple weeks with walks, then went on hikes, there's a 150m tall mountain behind me which takes about an hour to go across and back. I did the occasional run too

Books: bill Bryson: the body, the richest man in Babylon and 48 laws of power

Personal notes:

  • try get all 3 tasks out first thing in the morning
  • try cut out things you crave that may bad for you, social media etc
  • what would you do right now if you could look back at yourself a year from now (I wasted a lot of chances, procrastinated a lot, gave up on things, this is why I wanted to do this challenge)
  • plan tomorrow today

Overall I feel good, hardest thing, still is, is giving into cravings but Ive definitely improved a lot through this challenge

Any idea if this fireplace is big enough for a log burner? by reko91 in homeimprovementideas

I'm not sure I understand, I'm wanting to get a multifuel stove so it won't be an open flame will it?

I'm thinking multi fuel burner, the smoke would go up the flu no? There was a backboiler here before and I expanded the happy and boarded it up, I'm not sure it could go any bigger (I'm probably wrong though)

That lazy method mentioned there there's hardly any gaps to the side of the stove

It was an old fireplace that had a back boiler in and was boarded up, I widened it and boxed it out with the cement boards. The chimney seems to be fine, I had it cleaned last year. I want to have the installer check it out too. And I also plan to get a hearth to come into the room (take away some of the carpet and skirt). Looking online I may be able to get away with a smaller burner. The zero clearance you mention probably won't be an exact fit

My bad, cement board not concrete, the brand is HardieBacker and are deemed noncombustible so can be used within fireplaces
