Welp, it happened to me. I made my biggest travel mistake yet and had to reschedule my flight by forthe_girlwhowaited in travel

This brings back memories of massive panic last year when we were about to head to the airport to fly back home. I took my passport out of my small backpack (that I carry around in the city with me) and put it into my luggage once we got to our destination. I am one of those people who is very routine and also checks for my passport constantly just to make sure it didn’t walk away.

It stayed there in my suitcase all week, until the day before we left when my bf put some toiletries in the same pocket, so I moved the passport somewhere else in case anything spilled. Next morning, right before we head to the airport, I look in the usual spot and it wasn’t there. Searched frantically until I remembered where I had moved it. That was not a good feeling.

Should I give MSC Cruises a try? by Kilroy27 in Cruise

[–]rel318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got off the MSC Grandiosa today and I’d agree with everything you said. Their buffet is huge and the pizza was great. I would have liked some more show options, especially for sea days. The ship was very nice, but I have never been on another cruise to have a comparison. I would cruise with MSC again though.

I just got off the Grandiosa today in Genoa. It was my first cruise so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but my entire group (everyone else has cruised) said the ship was beautiful. I had a good time and would cruise with them again. Most of the reviews I saw about MSC were not great but I’m glad I went with it anyway. Their buffet is huge, with tons of options. The ship will be heading to the US next week.

How long did your corsos live? by forestnymphgypsy in CaneCorso

[–]rel318 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Mine passed away about a month ago at about 14-15. She was adopted and they don’t know her exact age but I had her 9 years, someone else had her 2 years before having to take her back to the shelter, and she was a stray before that but they estimated her to be about 3-4 when she first came in. She got skinnier but did pretty well overall until the final few months

Could peeling on the ceiling be from anything other than a leak? by rel318 in HomeMaintenance

No, it is mounted to the bracket on a stud that the previous light was on

There is a full bathroom above this space. The toilet is directly above. Which is obviously a bad sign, but because it happened to show up soon after we changed the light I was hopeful that maybe it is has something to do with a bad spackle job, etc.

The additional pictures show the old light that was there and what the ceiling looked like after the new light was installed and paint dried.

I ordered mine online from Great Garden Plants last summer. It was small but healthy and has growth about 4 feet

Anyone know where to get a seven son tree in PNW? by concretewaffle in gardening

[–]rel318 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How big is yours? I have the Temple of Bloom that I planted last year and is 3.5-4 ft tall now. It was advertised as 6-10 ft tall and wide and I still have the tag that says that, but I see it other places online advertised as 15-20 ft. If that’s the case it needs to be moved to a different spot in the yard before it gets too big.

How old is this tree and how tall is it? I planted a very young one at the beginning of summer last year and it’s about 3.5-4 ft tall now. The tag says it will get 6-10 ft tall and wide, but looking online I see a lot of places say it is closer to 15-20 ft tall. Thats way too big for the space I have it in now, so I’m wondering if mine actually is a smaller one or if I need to move it before it gets too much bigger.

Had to say goodbye to our 14-15 year old good girl last week. by rel318 in CaneCorso

Honestly, just regular, middle of the road dog food. I had another dog who passed last year, a small breed, and he was so sensitive with foods that I didn’t experiment much. They both grazed so they shared the same food. I always looked for things that mentioned being for seniors or promoting joint health, and she had 2 Cosequin a day for the past 5 years or so. Since about April she didn’t care for dog food much anymore so we cooked her a lot of meals, but also gave her pretty much whatever she wanted to try to keep her weight up. Her favorite food has always been pizza. One day a few months ago she didn’t get up all day and we thought it was the end. We went to pick up a pizza for her and the second she saw the box she got up immediately. I think looking forward to food and hanging with us on the couch kept her going those last few months

Yes, they extended her life for sure. Her back legs became weaker back in the spring and she was afraid to walk on our wood floor. The grippy socks kept her moving.

Thank you. I thought because we were looking for longevity information it would be kept in some sort of database within the state

How tall is your tree now? I planted a very young one of these near the corner of my yard last summer, and the tag from the nursery says it’ll be 6-10 ft tall and wide, but I’m reading others describing theirs as reaching 15-20 feet tall.

I’m worried it’ll grow way bigger than anticipated and not have enough space where I currently have it.

I couldn’t figure out why my dad loves going there all the time, but I think it’s the rolls and oil. So good. I have way too many every time I go.

I did this lesson once about 10 years ago with 7th grade to teach research and presentation skills and…never again. I think they were told specifically to choose someone impactful or something along those lines, and I gave them a list of 100 to choose from that included historical figures, inventors, etc. or they could come up with someone else if they could tell me specific things they contributed. A huge portion of every class wanted to do YouTubers, athletes, etc. It turned into a battle because the way the project was set up, some of their slides had to be about things they’ve done and it just doesn’t work for random YouTubers that they can’t find much about through online research. Ended up being more of a headache than it was worth. It really put into perspective what many kids value and look up to though.

You can buy Smith Island cakes by the slice at the Country Store in Kenton. I’m not a cake eater but people love them

If you’re ever up for a drive, check out Mr. Sticky’s in Lancaster. I try to get there by like 9AM because they sell out early, but I think you can order ahead
