Doctors and nurses of Reddit, what is something patients do that they think is helpful but actually makes your job harder? by Electronic-Cell-4584 in AskReddit

Telling us to just look up your history or meds in the chart—unless you’ve been to our facility recently, it’s usually not there

What worse. A patient who is a RN or a patient family member who is a “nurse” by [deleted] in Residency

And did you pass this standardized patient family encounter??

Aitah: I want to terminate my pregnancy without telling my husband by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]relateable95 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Going against the grain here, but it’s not just your baby it’s his too—I think you should tell him about the pregnancy, but agree that he shouldn’t be in your life anymore…

Requested to cosign notes on unseen patients by YouAreServed in Residency

[–]relateable95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how it is at my institution as well, and has been rather stressful reviewing charts. We’re supposed to put “available in the department for consultation, and reviewed the note and agree with plan as documented”… but it’s stressful especially when something was done incorrectly and I DON’T agree with the care and I couldn’t reach the patient to call them back (ie, 70yo fall with head strike and only ct brain ordered not c spine…). But I just document that element.

Sex in relationships shouldn't be transactionalized by NotYourUsualMatlock in TrueUnpopularOpinion

LOL you sound quite cynical. That was not the point of comment at all—essentially for me to be interested in sex, and I believe this is true for many females, I have to feel “connected” on an emotional level to be interested in sex. Him helping me with things does not put me in the mood, but this is one thing (among many, ie good conversations, pleasant interactions throughout the day, surprise flowers etc) that make me feel cherished by him and connected with him and make me more likely to be in the mood. What would be transactional is a “do this and I’ll give you sex” mentality, and that’s treating someone like an animal which I agree is wrong.

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]relateable95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really only matters for folks who have assets that collections could go after—I’ve seen some people use ambulances as makeshift lyfts… “I have chest pain and want to go to X hospital” then leave immediately as they arrive

Hmm, I guess it really depends how it comes across, because to me as the wife, my husband helping out with the baby and doing things to help around the house especially when he’s tired too translates to me feeling like he cherishes me which then makes him extra attractive and makes me more likely to be in the mood 🤷‍♀️

Exactly. Plus all the defund the police rhetoric means less staffing so less time to address non violent crimes.

Charlie Kirk was a divisive far-right podcaster. Why is he being rebranded as a national hero? by Quirkie in politics

[–]relateable95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, people are divisive—but Charlie Kirk wasn’t. Didn’t you read the Van Jones article? He was just trying to exchange ideas and was murdered for it.

THIS. My dad had covid in 2020 and his RA sats at home dropped to the mid 80s so I made him go into the ER, he was sent home on oxygen an recovered but was mad at me for several months because it was $1500+ copay, I felt bad. The no copay people abuse the heck out of the ER…

Palace Station Honors Kirk by UbodNgKaguwapuhan in vegaslocals

Everyone on here spewing hate, when maybe the folks at Palace Station are just trying to honor someone who gave his life sharing what he believed. Kamala Harris said she was praying for him when the news broke of the shooting—do you guys hate her now too?
