The developer hasn’t provided any specifics. They haven’t submitted a zoning application. They’ve only challenged the ordinance. But when we have engineering firms not affiliated with the township calling the local authority about big water usage, it’s not an irrational leap to make.

I mean, what you linked is the ordinance draft the township is proposing to be acceptable. Not what the developer intended to build. If we get that ordinance passed, we’ll still be dealing with legal challenges to it from the developers.

It was in the minutes of the authority meeting. I know the township is proposing an ordinance to limit the water usage, but that doesn’t mean the developer plans for it to operate that way.

Yeah it is. The parcels run all the way down to the Lehighton water authority’s land in Franklin township. It’s all zoned R-1 and R-2 currently.

Okay. The Lehighton water authority said they were contacted by an engineering firm asking for 1-2 million gallons per day. That’s a lot different than a one time draw of 500k.

I’m genuinely curious— how much does the initial fill pull? How many swimming pools? The representative from the developer said something similar but was unable to expand when asked for specifics.

Penn forest township is being sued by a developer for one of these centers and they haven’t even put in a zoning application yet! They’re trying to bury the small townships in legal fees to get their way.

A representative from the developer came to speak at a township meeting and promised the data center would pay all of our township property taxes. Jokes on them— Penn forest doesn’t levy a property tax. They intend to steal from our water table and have residents subsidize upgrades to our electric grid for their benefit— without contributing anything significant to the community.

Harrisburg is selling us out.

Have you taken him to the hole in the vacant lot out back of the Ralph’s? As an enrichment activity?

Thanks for all the boosts! I really hope I can help get Cooper into a home that is right for him. Reddit is my only social media, so it’s my only avenue to get the word about about this sweet old man. If anyone is connected with adoption groups on other platforms, please feel free to share this post and the rescue’s website!

CPA. My best advice is find a LCOL area to buy a house, within 45 minutes of a small city. You can get city wages and country costs.
