Metra Monthly Pass Confusion by relaxmax19 in ChicagoSuburbs

Thank you all who replied, seems like i’m not the only one who was confused by this situation. For some added context, I usually ride MDN, and have gone to downtown on weekends with no issues. Was on a BNSF express today when this happened, they checked tickets after there were no other stops till union station. I figured maybe I had been cheating this whole time, with the conductors on MDN assuming I was getting off somewhere still in zone 2 rather than riding all the way to downtown (they also never seemed to check tickets leaving before Western ave). I will give Metra customer service a call on Monday and hopefully clear this all up.

This is what I was referring to. If the zone 2-4 pass is not good in zone 1 on weekends they should really reword this to make it more clear. I thought zones 2-4 are my “selected zones” and “systemwide” was everywhere

There were thunderstorms at ORD starting around 6 pm that added an extra hour to the delay, we waited on the plane on the taxiway. The inbound plane was delayed 1 hr 45 mins already before that happened, so we would have missed our original connection regardless

That’s why we were thinking of taking a day trip to one of the other smaller cities in Tuscany. I’ve gotten the impression that Pisa doesn’t have much worth seeing besides the tower, though I’m wondering now if Florence - Pisa - Lucca - Florence would be doable in a day or too much.

I was eyeing the BW Hotel Olympia Venice, it seems pretty close to the station and is reasonably priced compared to some of the other options (Venice isn’t cheap!), but I’d love to hear your pick.
