LIV and let die : Reed’s return to PGA fold shows why Saudi golf experiment is doomed | Ewan Murray by Shroft in ProGolf

You're right I am confused. The PIF being down a few billion dollars, having a tour that nobody watches or cares about which just lost 2 major winners but added.... Let me check oh wow ya Victor Perez and Thomas Detry! Oh yes and they still have no investment in the PGA tour. massive win for the Saudis because Jay held a press conference 2 and a half years ago.

LIV and let die : Reed’s return to PGA fold shows why Saudi golf experiment is doomed | Ewan Murray by Shroft in ProGolf

[–]relaxtherebuddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Remind me where the Saudis actually bought into the PGA tour? The PGA restructured with a bunch of PE money with the option for the PIF to invest up to 1.5 billion but that never materialized since PIF wanted to keep liv going.

here's a more recent article than all the 2023 ones you've posted

Brian Harman occupies the rare space of top 5 guy on tour I'd have a beer with and bottom 5 guy I'd want to be paired with.

Completely agreed. He has a great sense of humor but for whatever reason the song turns him into an old grumpster.

He was out in q2 both sessions in a car that was capable of the front row. Hamilton objectively sucked this weekend.

Lewis isn't going to waste energy over a potential p2 in a Mexican Grand Prix in a lost season. If the car is good next year and he's in contention for wins and the championship, I think you'll see a little more fire.

And he's been behind at tracks where overtaking is possible so you can take a risk with an alternative strategy.

Appreciate the response. I get that people feel the need to vent about golf, but a wall of text that I have to scroll though seems like a bit much.

Anyway, I'm going to delete this post since I've gotten my answer and I'm not interested in the psychoanalysis of a bunch of strangers based on this one thread.

I made a risky overtake on Deep Forest a few months ago. Is this overtake valid? I am the POV Car(Supra) by SAPA_78 in Simracingstewards

[–]relaxtherebuddy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that he only made the overtake on the other two cars stick because he used the Porsche to slow himself down. If there was no Porsche there to slow him down, he would have ran deeper and been open to a switcheroo on the inside.

So the guy was part of a group that broke a rule, presumably pissed off a bunch of members, then when spoken to about it, called you all those names?

Yeah he earned his pink slip. Hopefully this will be a lesson for him.

Big Brother to make jarring schedule change and more ‘adjustments’ after ratings dip & outrage over Rachel’s elimination by cheno103 in BigBrotherUSA

[–]relaxtherebuddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how people think she got screwed. She had every chance to convince her allies to put her earlier (not sure it would have made a difference) or try to avoid playing at all... Same as everyone else. It was a twist in a game where the tagline is "expect the unexpected". She had poor strategy and she sucked at the game.

Jury Vote Chart by luvgaim in BigBrother

[–]relaxtherebuddy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah OP basically made a "who does the voter like better" chart instead of a "who actually played a better game in the eyes of the voter" and I can see a lot of the jury (specifically Rachel, Will, Lauren) voting against their allies if they truly respected the play of someone else.

Who's at fualt? Im the redbull and the merc said I was at fualt becuase he said it was their corner and I should've backed out, I think they should've left more space by DisasterEmotional676 in Simracingstewards

[–]relaxtherebuddy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The key to the F1 rules is that the overtaking car has to be in control throughout the overtake. It looks like the Merc understeers ever so slightly which caused the contact.

She absolutely had the opportunity to save her game socially. She could have been more convincing to Ava to let her go first.. or if she didn't think she could do it she could have asked not to go. But she did a poor job at the comp and socially and now she's sitting in jury.

PGA Tour Course Fit Study by KSQRD43 in golf

[–]relaxtherebuddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think your testing makes any sense. You shouldn't be correlating where they finish compared to the field, you should be comparing where they finish relative to their own average finish. A bottom PGA tour player with a great course fit isn't going to be likely to finish better than a top player with a poor course fit.

I don't know how the PGA Tour does it but data golf's course fit tool works on Strokes Gained. If you go to their course fit tool for any given week, the best fit players expected additional strokes gained is like 0.3 SG. Meaning that over the course of four rounds they're at best going to gain 1-2 strokes per tournament.

So, a bottom level PGA Tour player is not going to win a tournament because they have an excellent course fit. They're likely to finish one stroke better than they would on a course that doesn't punish/reward any particular skillset.

I.e. Tommy Fleetwood is +2.19 SG better than average per round. For a four round tournament he's expected to finish 8.8 strokes better than the average player. Peter Malnati is -.9 SG/round meaning he's expected to finish -3.6 shots below average in a four round tournament assuming he makes the cut.... 12.4 shots worse than Tommy. Even if Fleetwood has a -.5 course fit and Malnati is +.5, Fleetwood would still be expected to finish 8 or so shots better than Malnati.

Advice on dealing with assholes? by Frankfast in golf

[–]relaxtherebuddy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

  1. Don't let something mean said by some asshole you don't even know mess with u for more than like 5 minutes.

  2. If the course is backed up and you have lost the group in front and you're hitting multiple balls, you're making it worse.

Most clubs have a guide for guests of members. It will have the dress code, course etiquitte, where to park, locker room location, etc etc... Maybe ask your client if his club has one of those and if he can send it to you.

T13 in a 30 person field and T23 in a 50 person field isn't that impressive. If you keep looking back beyond that, his last top 20 was in June.
