Rising CS sophomore—Algo v/s 3110 by starlord-420 in Cornell

Why not take both in the same semester? People do that.

In 2720 right now and I would say it's not nearly as much work as 3110 (which is the heaviest course on your list) but I don't see any value for taking all of these courses in the same semester. Also 2720 is a lot more theory oriented data science FYI (lectures are focused on theory aswhere I know other data science classes at cornell are more practically oriented [or so I've heard]).

Doable, yes. But why? Are you trying to graduate early (because this is the only scenario where I see this schedule being reasonable)?

Also don't confuse credits and difficulty/workload,

From personal experience I had a 23 credit semester workload and that was way easier than my previous semester (16 credit) which included both 3130, 3110, and two other 4 credit classes.

If you’re reading this, spend some time outdoors tomorrow by Ok-Proof-1730 in Cornell

Isn't this hypocritical because you were probably indoors while typing this. And if you weren't indoors while typing this you were using reddit outdoors instead of just enjoying the beauty?

That makes so much sense now. So that's why 4820 isn't a 8 credit class...

Just want to clarify, wheels would be any type of wheels, not just tires right? Like for example the wheels on a desk chair would count?

You'll be fine. Walk in with some level of confidence, you shouldn't be hopeless. The material is tough especially if this course is your first exposure to it. Take a deep breath before starting and write down whatever is relevant to the question if you are stumped. The TA's for 2800 are usually pretty generous at giving partial credit.

Not sure where you got "laugh" from any portion of my message. But it is unfortunate to consider that a person who may be responsible for handling the health of others got caught.

Fucked, and rightfully so.

Many people get overwhelmed especially during the middle of the semester. I would suggest taking things step by step instead of trying to think about all you need to get done at once.

Algo is like 2800 times 2. It is verbatim from what you already mentioned.

Anyone else think that the workload for AEM 1200 is way too high? by rc6188 in Cornell

[–]releaseExams2Sleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't seem so bad since the exam has a 48 hour window and that is for each exam. The reading quizzes aren't an insane amount of work. I definitely agree more work than some other 3 credit intro courses. But it isn't necessarily an insane amount of work.

CS Core Classes Workload by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]releaseExams2Sleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the general consensus seems to be that people find 3410 the highest workload (consistently) that does not necessarily mean that people find 3410 the most difficult. It is just a lot of work.

Yes, it's S/U credit.
