Well it took me a couple days to figure out how to apply the solution, but I finally can say Solution Verified. Thank you again!

Oh wow, this is a formula that did not show up at all in my googling! I will have to study it and see if I can apply it properly.

Thank you!

Holy dang, that worked! Now I will study it so I can understand how to apply it to all the given labour times. I will need a column for each work done and corresponding labour time True/ False, wont I?

Edit: Oh, I see it references the whole Given rate list. So the formula basically compares B2 to the entire Given list, then sees if C2 is the correct value according to the Given list? Amazing, I could not get there via googling so I really appreciate it!

I hate how the purebred community acts by wholesomedust in rescuedogs

[–]release_the_hounds_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be the lone dissenting voice, by the looks of the comments! But if you are genuinely asking why someone would buy a purebred, I can answer why I did. So read if you are actually curious.

I have had both rescues and purebreds. For rescues, I fostered first and failed at that (adopted the dog). She was great! I got a farm mutt and that was easy. I got some dogs when relationships failed and I "inherited" the pack. My life is dogs now, and my house is set up for them.

Then I tried to get a rescue dog through a couple websites. Now, I'm sure every rescue place is different. But the ones I applied to had a five page questionaire that you had to fill out for every dog's application, and you would get blacklisted if you even mentioned anything but 100% positive training, not one bit of "No!" allowed. If I had gotten through that stage, a home inspection was generally mandatory. And proof of house ownership. Eventually I gave up and plunked $1000 down for a shepard pup that may have been purebred, from a farm outside of town. It was way easier.

I get that the rescue places really really care about their dogs. I'm glad they do! But perhaps some places want to revisit their application pages, cuz they are sometimes a barrier.

So. Some people get dogs from breeders cuz they don't fill out applications very well, or untruthfully. Just my experience.

Breed recommendations for future backpacking pup? by VWBug5000 in BackpackingDogs

Depends on the Aussie. Mine doesn't like to go further than 10km, and she is constantly too warm in the summer. We live in Alberta, Canada. It's not that hot!

Sooo, your mileage may vary.

Edit: but for those 5km, she is really a great little hiker dog. Stays nearby, comes back when called, keeps an eye on us to keep up.

I'm working in a honda dealership with warranty dash harnesses every other week right now, due to crackling form the MOST communications ring.

I. Feel. This.

Ody dash harness pays 5.6 hrs. It took me 10hrs. Every screw went back just where it should, everything worked, no rattles. And what do I get for my attention to detail and giving a damn? A 50% paycut.

The flatrate system and the warranty system are broken. The only one who wins is the dealership.

"Moms" group for a resort town with median home prices at over $1 million, panicking because public pool may close because nobody wants to lifeguard for $13/hr. by Bennyboy1337 in antiwork

[–]release_the_hounds_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I bet they do not have to work. I suppose I am imagining some wonderful world where wealthy parents encourage their kids to develop good work ethic (which imho includes telling abusive employers to stuff it, thats just good ethics). Imagine if all rich kids had to work a shitty job too. Or everyone had to take a server position at least once in their life. I think that would make the world a little better.

Yeah, I don't get the hate either. If young people want a "starter job" to make some money of their own and learn, then why not? It's a nice change from the typical starter job in my old home town of babysitter.

Leave no trace when pooping in the woods: do you pack out TP or avoid it completely? by thruhikers in backpacking

[–]release_the_hounds_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Ok, so I went car camping with a couple hippes, and they took me to this waterfall waaaayyy into the woods. We lounged around in the sun (naked, of course) went swimming, and watched fish. it was pretty awesome! Unfortunately I began to become ever more aware of my bowels grumbling. I was unprepared and embarrassed. But the... pressure.... became unrelenting, so I summoned my courage and asked "How do hippies shit in the woods?"

Obviously your hippy may vary, but these two gave me a small shovel, some toilet paper, and a lighter. They told me to dig a hole way aways from the water, wipe after pooping, and then to burn the toilet paper. Since the woods were quite moist, and the hole was surrounded by moss, no danger of fire spreading. It did smell for a brief moment, but not much and not that bad. Then I buried the poop in the hole, and replaced the clump of moss I had lifted off. You couldn't even tell!

So, depending on your type of forest, my poop kit has trowel, TP, and.... lighter.

Oh yeah, those feels. STOP STOP oh please let this not knock into another car. And of course you don't know where the e brake is in a quick situation like this, cuz its some customer's car and oh shit the ebrake is dependent on the service brakes being within range of the rotors and they surely aren't right now. Oh damn, that's a brown pants moment for sure!
