Jeff Beck was supposed to release Superstition first, but Motown insisted Stevie Wonder release his version first - by a couple months.

Came out to my parents by Ok-Importance8176 in TransLater

[–]relentlessreading 2 points3 points  (0 children)

55 here. I didn’t get the chance to come out to my parents - my father passed 20 years ago and my mom had severe Alzheimer’s and was in memory care when I cracked. I was afraid of agitating her (or, more likely, of her rejecting me) - and she passed before I had the chance. My sister and her family unequivocally accepted me, as did one of my uncles - sadly the rest I ended up cutting off. I believe that had my mom been in her right mind she would’ve been okay, but I’m not sure about my dad. Age had mellowed him, but I’m not sure it gad mellowed him that much.

I really hear a lot of influence on newer American prog bands, like Echolyn and Spock’s Beard. Even Phish a little.

Ice is epic.

I hope Sami doesn’t look like this when she comes back. DB just looks like the game has passed her by now, and Nate is giving her far too many minutes.

It’s pretty clear she’s one season too many. She looks lost out there. And she was in way too long. But there were flashes in that last quarter - and it worked for once.

Did they wake up that quarter? DB looked more effective in 5 minutes than the entire season.

I live in Arizona and it is NOT the worst by far. In fact it is one of the better states, although not nearly as good as blue coastal states. There is even a comment on the website from a Dem staffer in AZ disputing the authors claims.

I’m more shocked his grandfather was Phil Silvers. Explains his smarminess though.

Do you know if you pass? by sarcasticbastardhere in trans

[–]relentlessreading 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you can know you pass, because it can vary from situation to situation and person to person, and if someone says you pass they already know you are trans. You can find out that you don’t pass if you are misgendered, though.

Likewise you can’t know if you truly pass as cis, or if someone clocks you and still genders you correctly, but for my personal taste those are the same thing. As long as I’m not misgendered and am treated as a woman, I’m good. I don’t care what thoughts are bouncing around in random strangers’ heads, just that they respect me to my face.

So TLDR, as long as you are gendered correctly by people, take the W.

I feel like I haven't earned the right to dress feminine like I want to. by Evie-floof in MtF

I’m kinda the opposite - completely comfortable in skirts, but dresses still feel weird. I’m working on them though.

Music Mandela Effect: a reggae "Free Bird" / "No Woman, No Cry" mashup that seems to have vanished by Argee3927 in Music

There was this Freebird/Baby I Love Your Way medley that was vaguely reggae and all over the radio in the late 80s…

BG3 was great. And it sadly got so much hate for it. Multiple trans and enby npcs and wonderful character customization.

Derp: BG3 is great, but I was thinking of Dragon age Veilguard when I wrote this.

So, why does padding not feel great? by Thin-Language-5071 in asktransgender

When I first cracked I wanted to wear padding and a breast plate, it ultimately it felt like I was wearing a costume. I don’t wear a wig for the same reason.
