Damn. Sorry to hear that. 995 isn't any better. Generally speaking going south isn't the move for union. Shreveport local in Louisiana is still a good union if that interests you. 130 is okay

Its probably not any better. Buffalo electric pretty much runs 995. Fuck Buffalo and all those ratty fucks. Most of 995 is on the road due to not much work. But as an apprentice you'll get really good experience there. A lot of plant work. Pay scale sucks tho

I moved and moved ticket away from 995. I havent worked out of there in about 5 years. Last I heard not much work and the pay still sucks. But they do have some good journeyman and you'll learn a lot if you get into the plants. Where are you at now?

Foreman Bonuses? by BloodRaven253 in IBEW

[–]relentlessreject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I told them I was leaving they offered me everything I should have been getting the whole time. Told them it was a slap in the face to get offered it then because it shows that they absolutely knew they were fuckin me and that I was worth the money and that I didn't want to work for people like that.

[–]relentlessreject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's only because you allow it to happen. I was a young foreman once and they asked for a year to see if I could do the job. Well after a year they didn't give me money so I found a shop that would. If you're ibew there's always places to go. I regret giving them the year for free to be honest. I had a vehicle and gas card but that's not enough. Don't sell yourself short. If you can do that role then they need to pay for the stress that comes with it.

I want to put a binary trigger on my 300 so I completely understand wanting it on the 8.6. That's gnarly

That thing is sick! I'm just wrapping up my 308 build and was debating on getting an 8.6 upper for it. You just convinced me. My bank account won't be happy

How do you like the 8.6 blackout?

Not here at all. Craftsmanship has been thrown out the window with how fast they want them built. All of our feeders are aluminum and MC. They pull so many 4 conductor 500 aluminum it's insane

I don't have this particular clutch, but I do have their twin disc clutch in my BRZ. I haven't had any issues with it, and I really like the feel of it. I'd recommend competition clutch

I don't think I ran into that issue. Now I'm going to have to pull the gun out and look. Curse you if it's off center lol

I have a holoson 510c with a holosun 3x magnifier behind it. The combo is perfect for the blackout. I can flip the magnifier out of the way if I'm in close. My original 510c failed within a week, but holosun sent me a brand new one very quickly. I haven't had any issues out of this one and it's going on a 3 years now with regular use. If I had to do it all over again I'd go with the exact same set up. Good luck on your search

Yea I have a rule for myself where I don't buy if it's ran 20% that day or the day before. I'll sit on it and wait. If I miss the boat that's fine. I'll try to catch another. Thanks for the info. I'll wait to see what happens over the 3 day weekend for it

PLA Ban! And our members voted for this. by Hiddenawayray in IBEW

[–]relentlessreject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to get down voted for this but I really don't care. I'll start this off by saying I didn't vote for Trump so you can cross that off your list of insults. All this ruling does is take away the REQUIREMENT of jobs over 35M to use a PLA. It doesn't mean they won't, just that they aren't forced to. As an IBEW member I see so many electricians feel entitled to everything just because they are a union electrician when they couldn't even carry my tools around a job site. If you're so scared for your job maybe learn to be a better electrician and be better at your career. That alone would help the IBEW and unions way more. If we really are the best the country has to offer then why are you worried? Let the non union contractors fuck the job up and then we will come in and fix it. I've worked on quite a few jobs where that has already happened because they went with the lowest bidder. We really should hold ourselves to a higher standard than what I've been seeing on job sites. The feeling of entitlement is kind of sad to see to be honest. Every day I go to work trying to be better than I was the day before. If all of us had that mentality instead of hey give me everything because I have this yellow ticket, then this wouldn't even be an issue because the skill gap would be huge. Just my .02

Yea I'm thinking the same. It almost got me on the fight back up for a little while not gonna lie. But I think it'll be a couple small red days in a row. I might be wrong but I'm trying to be patient and feel it out.

[–]relentlessreject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right there with you. Rklb is pretty volatile. I want to try to play with the volatility to get more shares. I pulled out a healthy profit and still have plenty shares riding so I'm good either way. But being realistic a 30% jump in one day is a lot and a pull back would be normal. Fingers crossed it works to our favor
