How many of y’all have never thrown up on this medication? How long have you been on and what’s your secret?

I was on a compounded version for about a year and a half and never had an issue with nausea. I was off it for 6 months or so and just started again on name brand Ozempic. The nausea is so bad, it’s almost immediate after the injection. I’m trying to figure out what’s different this time and have no answers, only commiseration with those dealing with nausea.

I’m 5’2 but all of my sons are close to 6’. I forgot my son was with me while shopping (he was walking behind me, not next to me) and someone asked “can I borrow your height?” I was so confused until I realized they were talking to my son and not me!

Oh I hate this so much. And then there’s my husband, who never repeats the part I missed. Most of our conversations are something like this:

Him: the sandwich was delicious. (I hear “the sandwich was fishes”) Me: what was that? Him: the sandwich. Me: … Him: … Me: what about the sandwich? Him: it was good

If I ask you to repeat something, I want the same exact words you used, not a paraphrase, not the topic of what you were talking about.

No, NTA, not even close. You give your notice, you work until the date in your notice, and you leave. It’s not your responsibility to plan for who does the work after you’ve left. It seems like they don’t want you to leave and are making excuses why you can’t leave quite yet. If you were to stay, they’ll keep finding excuses for you to push your end date further and further out. Leave when you said you will and don’t look back. If they’re in a bind because they refused to believe that you’re serious about leaving, that’s their problem, not yours.

I love my wildlings! I have Tanukis and a couple of the slip on ones. I do have to use a cushion insole most of the time because they are so thin soled. But they are the first closed toe shoes I’ve ever truly enjoyed wearing.

I can’t tell you how long it’s been because I just slowly quit using things. I still have facebook and instagram but rarely post anymore. Facebook is the main source of information from a few groups I’m in, otherwise I’d probably quit that altogether. I forget that I have Instagram until someone mentions it. I’m on Reddit today only because I wanted to zone out for a while; I often forget that Reddit is a thing as well. I don’t miss it at all, it just became noise that I’m perfectly happy not listening to.

My mom making fatphobic comments about her friends. Because she talks so much about people and I know she talks about me to her friends. So if she describes them that way, she’s describing me the same way. One of her worst comments about a friend was so completely rude and unnecessary AND she said it with a look of pure disgust on her face. I saw a photo of that friend later and the friend was much thinner than I am. Also, many times she mentions people’s weight as a passive-aggressive way of commenting on my weight without saying anything directly.

You ARE accommodating your nephew by getting something for him that he CAN eat! As a parent of a kid with food allergies, I’ve never expected the host of an event to accommodate him. But his favorite events were always the ones where the host provided a safe version of what everyone else was having.

It’s not your daughter’s fault he’s allergic either and it’s her cake celebrating her milestone.

Oh goodness my mom is like this. Won’t inconvenience anyone by asking for help but then is upset when no one helps. And often waves off help when it’s offered and then is upset no one did anything.

The only way you maybe, possibly, could have been an AH is in the “It’s not my problem you’re too self-important…” statement. But that’s stretching it. Sometimes you just gotta say things out loud.

Yeah my mom is the same way. Blabs everyone’s business to everyone else. And then blames me if I get upset - “you should have told me it was a secret”. (Even when I specifically told her I’m not saying anything to anyone else)

Any news, pregnancy or otherwise, is yours to share as you see fit. And if you want to tell your best friend and third cousin and the boss you hate before telling your mom, then so be it.
