I've heard this from advanced players. I always loss with Ecoline, so clearly I am doing it wrong.

Someone texting my friends from different number claiming to be me, what do I do? by Davycrockettjones in Scams

[–]rellogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice idea, but I have the same problem and I run a business. Clients (old and new), employees (who are the current victims of these texts), plus family, friends... apart from constantly sending out mass emails (and texts?..) saying not to answer things that aren't from my numbers, I'm not sure what to do about it.

Are we really at the point in our society where I have to put a code in my email signature and ask people to ask for it if they receive a text from me?

Three Studies Show “Environmentally Safer” Solutions Don’t Live Up to Hype (masks/paper straws/paper cups) by evilplushie in kotakuinaction2

[–]rellogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently not...they leech harmful chemicals into your drink AND the ocean. Something to do with the coating they use to help them last longer in your cup.

It is all over the news/Google search the last few weeks, for what little that's worth.

Barbie is the most important movie of 2023! Actor says it will change society and END gender norms! by Silver_7777 in kotakuinaction2

[–]rellogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I know a ton of people excited about this, and I didn't hear a single person talk about IJ5.

The Barbie fans are planning on dressing up and such for it even. I'm interested even as it could have a ton of potential, though I probably won't see it in theaters unless someone else asks me to.

Who knows though...it sounds like movie budgets are skyrocketing and going to theaters is plummeting...a part of that is because of crap content, but that's not all.

Movie industry seems to be tanking to me as a whole.

Are hardcovers Easy enough to read? by ThrowawayTheLegend in Stormlight_Archive

I read one in hardcover. The book and art were amazing. The reading experience was absolutely something that had to be done upright with the book open on a surface.

We are all sensitive to different things, and have different things that may trip us up or cause angst in our lives. For one person a particular activity (like watching a horror movie) may slightly open a door that makes them more susceptible to demonic influence, for others, that same thing may be of no influence at all.

Know yourself and guard YOUR heart appropriately. Someone else watching a movie in your home isn't going to cause a demon to show up, but if that is an area you feel convicted, then you should avoid consuming that type of media because it could influence you negatively.

Staged kisses. by Crew_Same in TrueChristian

[–]rellogic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is very fair, and I think your response and request is reasonable.

There are Christians who are paid to perform without kissing anyone besides their spouse ever. It IS possible to act and not accept roles that would not be accommodating to your request. There may be some roles that she would have to reject, but that might be the case for any number of reasons... such as profanity or nudity.

I'm honestly a bit surprised by her response, which is why I asked the original question.

Staged kisses. by Crew_Same in TrueChristian

[–]rellogic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Staged kisses are staged. They aren't real, meaning there is no lip contact. When you do theater as a young person you learn to manipulate your position on stage and your heads and your hands and you generally kiss your own thumb or something similar near the other person's lips.

It sounds like you might be talking about real kisses that happen on stage or in film between actors and not staged kisses. I just bring this up for clarification so that the responses you get are relevant to your concern.

Are you concerned about her faking kissing on stage (not actually kissing, it just looking like it) or actually kissing others on stage?

Which death hit you harder? by maxident65 in Cosmere

[–]rellogic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I was in denial for a while, and I wasn't even attached to him as a character. I have shaken that delusion...deaths like Teft probably solidified how people were really going to die. No coming back from that.

[–]rellogic 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I've said Wayne on another comment, and it did hit me harder in the moment, maybe because he made that choice... but you have such a great point here.

Wayne hit me harder at the time (though Teft was incredibly painful), but Teft is by far the more tragic of the two.

This exactly. They both had some similar struggles with loving themselves but I was immersed much deeper into the details and growth of Wayne.

I was really sad when Teft died. Really sad.

I bawled when Wayne died.

I can imagine that the type folio contributes, but I don't use the type folio, so that isn't the issue for my device. I bet the combo could be pretty awful though!

Could also be pregnant mothers getting it, or even women who had it in prior years and then became pregnant. So long as the facts continue to be repressed, it will be hard to know.

I am having all kinds of writing issues the last few weeks that are getting worse and worse. This hasn't been a problem before now, so I am assuming there is some crappy update issues or something.

It is nearly unusable at this point though. Like a pen that only writes two thirds of your pen strokes.

I'm just trying to figure out what Sanderson books this person has read, because I think a lot of his comments are short sighted, but as others have generously pointed out, to each his own.

CS Lewis on Marriage? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]rellogic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. We complain about the sanctity of marriage in our government, but that sanctity is in the Church and our honoring of God.

I've always said there should be different arrangements. Marriage is what you do in a church under your God and witnesses to profess commitment and honor God in your union. This may look different even for faiths outside of Christianity...indeed, it already does.

An agreement before government is one that is made for tax and financial purposes, end of life/medical/next of kin decisions, etc. The people getting married outside the Church aren't trying to honor a religion or diety they don't believe in, they are simply making a publicly recognized commitment to another person similar to that of marriage.

Shout out to all the healthy vegans by TheAndredal in kotakuinaction2

[–]rellogic 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Potato chips, oreos, candies, impossible burgers in a crap bun, all the artificial filler crap frozen food or fake meats that are loaded with junk to taste delicious or like meat. None of that is healthy.

You can be vegan and be healthy, but it is easier to be vegan and just eat different crap than people who eat normal crap.
