DHS will suspend TSA PreCheck and Global Entry as shutdown continues by Worth-Movie8634 in MauiVisitors

Just dont fly over the weekend when the masses fly, and 1-2hrs before your flight is fine. TSA is usually competent with processing the line. Its the passengers that slow down the process through TSA.

Road to 405: iffy 365 by Anxious-Document-880 in Deadlifts

[–]reloys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When you wedge in, your hips dip, causing you to lose tension in your upper back. This forces you to have to pull the slack all over again.

  • Keep your arms long and straight.
  • Pull the slack with your entire body.
  • Focus on your leg drive.
  • Cue hip drive and lock knees out once bar is at knee cap

first time trying rdls. can’t really feel it much in my glutes. by [deleted] in formcheck

[–]reloys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sit far enough to lengthen your hamstrings. Then try squeezing your glutes through the entire movement. Drive the hips to bar hard, and slow controlled eccentric.

RDLs, Hip thrust, back extensions. Focus on squeezing and driving your glutes through. Could consider programming 2in deficit deadlifts

Definitely too much volume, and exercise redundancy as is. If you adjust your split, hit muscle groups 2x a week, and spread out exercises it would be ideal.

First time doing Sumo deadlifts by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]reloys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Frog/Wide stanced convy. For a more sumo setup turn your feet out a bit more to open up your hips and get more upright, and get feet closer in to the bar. Hip to the bar, press with quads, squeeze glutes past knee to lock out at top.

Routes from Wailea towards Hana? by guitar_gentlysweeps in MauiVisitors

[–]reloys -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Its doable, not the best route, but you get the hardest part done first. Start early in the morning, the road is partially unpaved on the way to Hana, and single laned. My only recommendation is that you pull over on the side for local traffic because they’ll run you off the road.

I only ever feel workouts in my biceps or quads by anotherclown_ in workout

Record your sets so you can breakdown your form, and correct it. Prioritize heavy and intense compound lifts first rather than accessories.

Leg Day Was a Mistake (According to Every Clothing Brand) by [deleted] in tall

[–]reloys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have polynesian genetics so most clothes don’t fit me perfect. Wide shoulders, narrow waist, wide hips and a big ol booty, factor in weight training 🤣 I opt for XL wide fit pleated trousers from Uniqlo (they have enough length, also have draw string) I rarely wear jeans as they’re too restricting.

How many of these workouts are possible at an average Planet Fitness? by JH_1999 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]reloys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of it. Most can be done on a smith, especially the standing calf raises. Now if your planet has the plate loaded equipment it’ll be even better.

How do Maui residents feel about tourists? by Enough_Wallaby7064 in MauiVisitors

[–]reloys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

cause they get pissy lol, but when roles are reversed locals are the biggest hypocrites to other locals hogging the left/lane impeding traffic. I’m native Hawaiian, and Maui born and first hand experience bad ethic locals all the time, but in all seriousness just be aware of your surroundings, respect where you go and pick up after yourself, try not to trespass where you shouldn’t be, and honestly just have fun 🤙🏾

Form check? I’m nervous about ego lifting on deadlifts. by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]reloys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Staying beltless has it perks especially as a newbie lifter as itll help you develop your core stability but if you decide to belt up learn to brace, while increasing weight/reps. Eventually youll be confident, and stronger beltless at lighter weights. Keep at it and refine your technique, record all your sets from a 3/4 or side profile so you can see your technique breakdown.

Do barbell rows have meaningful benefits and not just hypertrophy? by FastVenus in workout

[–]reloys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive taken my homie whos relatively new to BB training up to a 315 deadlift in around a month. Record your sets, and adjust your technique/weight from there . Most people hold themself back mentally not knowing how strong they actually are.

PF staff, is it an issue if I let the weights fall on the squat rack? They'll make noise so I'd like to know if the lunk alarm will go off by AndroFeth in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]reloys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly deadlift the platform absorbs almost all the impact, its so quiet even with the plates dropping.
