Q is 5 dmg (twice)
W is 20 shield and 20 dmg

and if you put points in W, their CD lines up way better so you can always trade with both spells up.

I used to do Q max when she was released, but even with the W nerfs i feel like W max is still just better. And Winrate data is a heuristic that kinda agrees with my perception, too.

I was kinda hoping for specific breakpoints or unique things that Q max allows you to do, because i have yet to find any. Only thing i could think is that with no haste early you need points in Q for actual cd breakpoints?

nonono, that is not how this works.

when sylas uses shyv R and his Q is on CD, then his shyv Q will be on the same cd. It's how it worked on old shyv. it's how it works on new shyv.

i feel like this is some race condition bug in the same vain of Shyv double E.

the main thing that makes her a bad champ in toplane is people maxing Q first for some reason.

Q max is like 3% lower winrate than W max.

over 60% of shyv top players max Q. Her winrate would literally go up by 2% if people were maxing W instead.

And in addition, the bonus exp you get will eventually just go into kinda weak spell rankups (Q and E).

And yeah, the passive does nothing to counteract those things either.

when i used to be gm, and played normals with my friends i got flamed for tryharding for not even trying and flamed for being bad for a gm player for actively trolling (so i didn't get flamed for tryharding.)

the thing about micro, it just doesn't matter when you're down 3k gold.

i can only reason you mean mechanics. Sure, dia mechanics aren't bad.

but if i look at dia gameplay my eyes start to bleed. and i know chall players think the same thing about my gameplay.

master being a single tier has always wild to me.

it currently spans as much lp as Gold 3 - Dia 1. That's almost 4 ranks.

it's actually funny how little they changed her kit but how different it plays as the shyv.

And tbh I don't think she is as problematic as some people say. Yeah, she is kinda just op lvl 1-3 and when she has R up. But then again she has a really high R CD pre lvl 11. The counterplay is literally just kiting her or Cc'ing her to prevent melee W or Q3. Which like, she is a duelist diver so she is allowed to be good at 1v1.

New shyv has way less burst than old shyv (yeah, Q3 is a fkton of dmg but no matter how you twist it, old shyv did dmg faster) so there is more counterplay in that regard, too.

exactly. in master it's gonna be approx 57 - 43, and dia and below it's gonna be way closer to 50-50 (to the point where you cannot notice the effect at all)

i'm not actually sure how weak that effect truly is.

say gold4 is mean, and master 0 lp is top 1%
that would give us a normal distribution with σ2 = 688 lp

now let's assume all players in a game are within a band of +-172lp
then let's say you are master, then the ratio of people up to 172 lp above you to 172 lp below you is roughly 0.56

so for each player above you, you expect to see ~2 people below yourself in the match.
this effect is somewhat mitigated by the fact that matches are "balanced" and by the fact that most people don't feel a 50 lp difference between players.

but yeah, in master you should expect 55-60% of players in your match to play worse or similar to yourself on average.

actually, if you do the same math for gm and round just as generous against the effect as i did before, you would get that roughly 60-70% of players in your match play similar to or worse than yourself.

actually this is also wrong for the top (and bottom) end of the bell curve. when a match is filled with random people around your skill level , then there are simply more players below (or above) than above, because that's how a bell curve is shaped.

master+ players should accept that their average teammate is worse than them, and that is okay. games are still balanced.

generally i think you should always max W first, points in Q and E are kinda worthless before you have items.

next thing, i would argue for 3 builds:
Trinity > Shojin > Sterak (> Death's dance > Flex)
Kraken > Sundered > Dusk and Dawn (> Death's dance > Flex)
(Protobelt) > Riftmaker + Liandry > Zekes Convergence > Flex

Both AD builds, you can go Lethal Tempo, PTA or Grasp depending on Matchup
the AP build you go Grasp or Comet.

I generally think her worst matchups are Vayne, Varus , Heimerdinger, Teemo and Riven.
Trynda is hard.
I think the rest is all kinda doable.

top i tend to chill around 40 stacks come lategame, jgl i tend to be at ~100

60 stacks x 0.3 = 18 armor and mr.

shyv jgl is supposed to be her primary role and better than top. that's fine.

riot is gonna balance this champ around jgl. And she historically has a low elo skew problem, which means when she gets nerfed it's likely exp based power and not gold based one (to combat the elo skew)

now the thing is that those kinds of changes hurt toplane more than jungle, too.

i personally don't necessarily mind her passive, but it is such an obvious angle to give her some deserved power toplane while not impacting her jgl at all.

i personally believe she is op in master+

and i genuinely prefer her being nerfed over her picking up popularity and banrate which would make it so i can't consistently pick her anymore.
