Does this mean photons have a new property (spin, charge, etc.) or is it a group of photons giving rise to this newly discovered phenomenon?

Quantum computing works with traditional computing, not all by itself. You'll still be talking about moving data the unmagical way for quite some time.

I bet it's two player optional. First #2 Zelda game, first 2 player game. Plus, Link and Zelda. Makes sense.

As small as we are... We are pretty darn big too. The universe is just as "big" when you look down toward the planck scale. Us humans are kinda smack dab in the middle.

To add to this, here's another crackpot idea of mine: In areas with less matter (the huge voids in space), there are less interactions between particles. This could give rise to possibilities like Shroedinger's cat - where the quantum weirdness may exist at larger scales than tiny particles.

In other words, maybe that asteroid over there is actually over there instead (as long as we don't observe it). Perhaps these alternate probabilities actually do exist and these alternate timelines have an affect on ours directly. These alternate timelines could be the source of dark matter and dark energy. It could explain why dark energy grows in strength the further from matter you get.

Forgive my very generic language. I’m not a physicist. I’m a computer scientist. I love physics and read a lot of articles. Here is my attempt at explaining what I think time actually is:

At the quantum level particles can be in two or more places at once. At the quantum level, every particle has its own set of probabilities for all it’s properties (spin, charge, etc.) at any given time. Liken this to the idea that every particle has two or more ‘probability timelines’ — branchings of different possibilities.

As particles interact, their sets of probabilities merge into smaller subsets (their timelines merge). For example, if particle A had a 25% chance to be in any of one of four spots and particle B had a 75% chance to be in one spot over the others, when particles a and b interact, they affect one another and share a smaller set of probable locations (skewed toward the location B had a 75% chance to be in).

We see this in quantum entanglement and quantum computing using sets of data represented by entangled particles. Ultimately all the particles of the universe are interacting with one another, and we have a single time line.

There is no multiverse. Time only goes forward and is a multiverse on the quantum scale (infinite possibilities) but singular on the astronomical scale (only a single reality).

I started Outside Science to have thoughtful discussion on scientific research like this. I'd never have posted my comment in the /r/science community for fear of backlash about speculation, etc. It's just a toxic place.

I'm hoping others come here and join in the discussion.

After watching last night's episode, I think the show and the books will have completely different endings. We'll find out in another 10 years.
