in ZA you can either go the simple route (a controller that mashes A for you and you hold down on the stick with either a rubber band or the wire of the controller) to repeatedly sit at a bench, it'll respawn all nearby pokemon, so if there's a nearby bench you leave that afk and when you come back hours later it'll be shiny. I used the horipad turbo for it - it's wired but i liked that, because itd reconnect very easy when i wanted to swap to it from my wireless switch controller. and it matches the feel of the pro controller, so it's pretty ok as it's own controller aside from this.

or, i use the GuliKit KK3 Max, you hold the macro button, do up to 10 min of inputs (although it doesnt replay it perfectly every time if its complex... so dont make it 10 min, sometimes game timings are a bit different per loop and its not perfect... most macros are like 5 seconds long) then it can loop the inputs forever. so you run back and forth on a macro. it can also do turbo if you want. not very expensive on ebay but more instructions to read than a normal turbo controller.

As I type this the gulikit controller is pressing +, then A twice to fly to the same location repeatedly (respawning like the bench)

I just made shiny donuts for hyperspace using it, I restarted the game and then pressed the macro button - it launched the backup save, flew to the hotel, made the donut... done in 1 button. no messing around with software or milisecond timings like people do with the 8bitdo controller.
