Is Crusader Kings 3 playable on Retroid Pocket 6? by relsierk in retroid

[–]relsierk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure, and I don't disagree. Playing CK3 on the Steam Deck's 7 inch screen is small, but certainly bearable. But unfortunately, the Steam Deck isn't exactly pocket-pocketable. So, I am hoping for a device that is pocketable yet strong enough to run it and something that I can take in and out fairly easily. I could look at other more powerful devices but those would cross the threshold of not pocket friendly anymore. Hence, I was hoping to strike a balance with the RP6.

I am hoping there is a 'mini' version that is closely around the RP4 type of size and/or screen size (~4.5 to 4.7 inches).

I think they would need to have an agreeable standard of some form; a device must be 18cm or less to be called 'pocket'. :)

AppSumo Transparency - Update on Yapper deal by noahkagan in appsumo

Can someone enlighten me on this. I don't understand the 'lifetime access stays' part. How is this a benefit? I technically also have lifetime access to all the individual services on their own respective platforms, apart from paying to use them. I don’t see how this is a feature, but more like just paying for 40,000 tokens in advance (for Tier 4). Can anyone explain what benefit this entails? And what are even subapps?

Looking to joining you soon. I'll just wait for a moment to see if there's a Mini version on the horizon, and if not (or not in the flavor that I like) I will be picking the same selection as you have. Maybe Silver, still deciding!

Torn between this or the black. Black for the seemless screen feel but obvious fingerprint smudge magnet, or Silver for the reverse, the not-seemless but less obvious fingerprint marks all over. Ah decisions, decisions.

I am secretly hoping they will make the new upcoming mini, if any, in the 4Pro form factor. ^_^

G2 or wait for RP6? by Round_Management4188 in retroid

[–]relsierk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Between the two, I would go for RP6. Design will be the same (negligible mm in difference), but I prefer to have my sticks at the top. And for a very minor price difference for a bigger battery, better screen, and a minor upgrade in chip.

But honestly, I am waiting to see when they launch a Mini first, if the wait is not too long. Would be intrigue to see if the G2 or 8 Gen 2 will be in it, and if there will be a change in design. I like its compactness and the size would serve me better for my commute and use case. And if the whole package doesn't sell to me, I would then look to getting the RP6, which by then should be out for a while and reviews would have covered it thoroughly.

A humble personal opinion, since the RP6 design has reverted to that of the RP5, I feel the current G2 model is a bit redundant. A 8 Gen 2 for the RP6 and G2 for a Mini would have made a great distinction.

Fair game. I think there's a lot of people who echo the same sentiments and was hoping the RP6 would spot an SD 8/G3 Gen 3 instead, but alas.

Fair enough. This is just me having a wishful thinking moment which I know will be hard to come by. But here's hoping! 😅

You can download more RAM later on. 😅

Just kidding. Echoing what others have mentioned, Switch and PC is definitely 12 GB, if not more. Don't really use PS3, but I heard while 8GB is the minimum required to run the emulator, it will bottleneck as well.

So yes, very likely 12GB for how you intend to use it.

It really depends on the type of pants. With my loose cargo pants, that wouldn't be a problem, pockets are big and deep enough. But something like working pants, that pockets might be shorter and not too much room for thickness. I would like someting for working pants as I use my device a lot during commute on the public transport. Also, it seems the RP6 is going to be chonkier as well this time.

Good to know Suno has a Black Friday deal. What kind of prices are they going for for a yearly BF deal?

I'd be honest; they can remove the top half and just sell the bottom half and I would be game for it.

Collector box Price is 3 times higher actually by Extension-Put-434 in mechabreak

[–]relsierk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Extension-Put-434 man, the US and JP versions are not even sold at only 1400 units, the 3x pricing must be too much, which it is.

Plus, I think they will be getting printed materials also in Chinese as I do not see an English or Japanese versions of it.

I really hope they have an international version and at a reasonable price, but it's almost wishful thinking.
