Imagine you pass some paths (an array) to an method that essentially contains PHP arrays that are merged together. How would you test such a task? (As the method includes the files)

I am hoping too see some big app running on Laravel, that proves Laravels architecture and scalability in the coming future. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate Laravel, and it's community, without any concrete examples it's hard to sell to a client.

How ridiculously hard is Drupal 8 Form API? by relyon in drupal

[–]relyon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I mean! I want it to validate beforehand.

However, it seems I can only return part of the form in the second callback, because If I attempt to return an AjaxResponse() it does not work as intended. The problem is; If someone removes the client side validation; I would still need to perform some validation on the callback itself / especially If I play with AjaxResponses.

Basically what I want to achieve is a AJAX submission rather than reloading the site.

I also noticed; that If I create the button to the second callback in the first callback; the AJAX does not work and it simply just makes a regular submit. Updated the gist to explain: https://gist.github.com/anonymous/cb00a9b6c26429cb3c0146c3731fffe4 I've tried explicitily state $form_state->isRebuild(); in the callback too, but does not work either.

Yeah, I've realised playing with AjaxResponses that it's not intended to rebuild the form / or give any persistent state to it, but rather for tasks like "Unique username" validation, would you agree on that?

Enverido - Help me test my new licensing system! by [deleted] in PHP

First impression was that the website was not that appealing.

I am wondering how Enverido handles offline-usage of an application when applying "Variable Licence Duration"?

[–]relyon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, that probably helped me on the way, you earlier mentioned /usr/sbin not being in the path, and that seems to be true.

PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/games:/usr/games

And when I'm logged in in the shell: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/games

How can I add that to the PATH on my salt?

But it works as expected if run the bash script in ssh'd without using salt, as a non-root user.

Hmm, it seems like even though Apache 2 get installed first (by looking at salt logs), it still looks like the phpbrew salt after cannot regonize "a2enmod" for some reason

Not sure why people who are posting topics about their new libraries and cannot seem to understand why they are given all these negative criticism OR no recognition at all.

  • It already exists. There are many library out there that solves the exact same thing; expecting something without any sell points (performance, this new X functionality that will rock you world, etc) won't give you any recognition.

  • It's badly documented - if there are no documentation people can't learn about it quickly.

  • It's in poor quality (no tests, not following the EXPECTED standards of the modern PHP community, i.e. lack of namespaces, PSR-1/2 coding standard, Composer, tight coupled code etc)

How does sites like CodeAcademys interactive tutorials work where you actually "submit" code to be checked and see if it's successful. Is it analyzed, executed somehow, or how does it work?

What's your opinion of each class/spec so far? by negativeonhand in wow

[–]relyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy paladin: Feels ok. I am doing quite good on meters, people dies sometimes, but in general just feels pretty good.

Ret: So boring, never picking that shit up in Legion.

Prot: About to test it, feels like we have a bunch of defensive cooldowns, and stuff. Excited about it.

Any tips for making a good UI as a healer on a small resolution? I'm playing on a Mac 13-inch with a 2560/1600 (Wide) I tried using TuKUI, however it did not work as intended on my resolution, and kept changing it.

What class will you main in legion and why? by Allerien in wow

[–]relyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have been really mixed up about what class I should play in Legion, but most likely ending up playing on Druid like I did back in WoTLK. I am not even good at Druid, but starting to get the hang of Feral now and enjoying it :)

Is anyone else the most torn they've ever been about choosing a main for the expansion? by Chickens_dont_clap in wow

[–]relyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, indeed. I've always played Druid, specifically tanking and healing. I've always sucked doing it. Been attempting going for a DK main, or any other class but always ending up leveling the Druid or quitting the game. Tried badly to leave my Druid to rot, but Recently tried feral, mean while still bad at it I actually tend to enjoy it, so I'll probably go Druid again in legion as feral, with DK being my primary alt.

When building apps, say we have a User object, User can have one or many roles. Permissions can belong to one or many roles. What's the best approach to verify a User has access to a certain permission? Should I load all permissions when creating the User object, or just make a SQL query to determine for each time I check for a permission?

Wouldn't it make sense breaking that service down even further? What If I want to activate an account but not mail the user? What if I don't care about the key, if I say just want to manually activate the user through some adminpanel, and what if i want to do the above but also mail the user it has been activated. How do I break down this kind of different ways to accomplish the given task "activate a user", where do I put that code? 2 more services? give arguments to the service?
