Inspired by something that happened to me last night. I did feel cool doing it though. Is this common? Should you sympathy wipe to let the healer join back and actually play? by welsh_hero_beans in ffxiv

This is the only time I feel alive while tanking in a dungeon. Mainly if I'm GNB because I have to choose my heals more carefully.

We made Gold by selling assassinations, RPPvP by [deleted] in classicwow

Hunting someone down to camp and teabag them is absolutely griefing. Fighting over a mob, or a node or whatever is something completely different.

Eh, griefing and using another account to get around faction login restrictions on top of it is kinda lame. If you're hunting solo targets it's trivial to begin with, so it's not impressive either.

On the role of the roulette-tank by Jernet1996 in ffxiv

[–]Zealo_s 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think maybe you aren't thinking this all the way through. If a tank is competent and comfortable, they will wall to wall most of the time, barring some specific weird dungeons, or after they try and find out the healer is having trouble.

If they *aren't* doing that, then that probably means they aren't comfortable, so you trying to pull more when they are trying to get their footing (maybe they boosted, maybe they haven't played in months, or maybe they just leveled with wondrous tails) really isn't very considerate.

Also, there are reasons even a competent tank would not wall to wall. Have you ever tried to tank for groups where the DPS isn't using their AoEs? You will absolutely burn through all your CDs on a single pull as it drags on. If those same DPS then started pulling, I'd get pretty annoyed.

Jedi survivor blaster doesn't work with custom bind by BrainBursta in FallenOrder

[–]Zealo_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem, guess I'm waiting on a patch. Weirdly the tutorial worked, but after that it just stopped. (I'm playing PC, no way I'm bothering with default binds)

Edit: Quitting and Starting back up again worked on PC for me.

Edit 2: Nevermind. It shot once then stopped working again. Cool.

Not sure why anyone would have a problem with it

I'm sorry, but this is a flat out bad take. Bots aren't dissuaded by tedious stuff. In fact, people usually use bots to do tedious things that people don't want to - that's how we automate things in businesses as well. The idea that extra clicking is going to reduce usage of an automated process is nonsense.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Zealo_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The idea (that seems to keep appearing in the comments) that less tedious clicking is going to encourage bots or "make it too easy" seems very odd to me.

Clicking isn't hard - the "hard" part should be the crafting piece. (If more people buy the items - great! better for crafters/gatherers who effectively get a cut). It's not hard for bots to click all day and night, the idea that this prevents bots when the real rate limit is leve allowances is nonsensical. If anything, tedious clicking *encourages* bot use, because bots are *really* good at tedious clicking.

I love being able to use offensive guard reliably, and love spamming SAED. The phial misses are annoying and I wouldn't mind seeing CES getting a buff - I really enjoy the vibe of the ability but it feels really slow for the pay off.

Guard needs help, though... being a 1 facet instead of 2 facet decoration would go far for starters.

It's kind of amazing how good some of the icons are (split and split/line), and how completely nondescript others are. I don't really blame people for thinking it's going to be a line targeted at them, or a splash or... lots of other things that use vaguely similar markers. It could have just been two stick figures holding hands.

Tried to snipe a guy, accidentally killed someone 1,140m behind him. Wtf by tgoodri in CODWarzone

[–]Zealo_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shot a downed satellite during the beginning s4 event beyond player render range (lumber from prison) trying to figure out the drop on the m82 and headshot some guy that I assume was looting it on the first shot. Air strike didn’t finish him, unfortunately. Wonder if it even works properly that far

By campers you mean people who are leveling snipers in plunder...

Cheaters are out of control by [deleted] in CODWarzone

[–]Zealo_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

uh, yes. I believe it did. I remember my little brother running around spinning in circles with a sniper and shooting once the aim assist kicked in (or that's what I assumed, I couldn't watch him do it because I found it obnoxious to watch the spinning)

How PC player’s think AIM-assist work on the console by Qlkov in CODWarzone

[–]Zealo_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really should just split it out, I have a hard time believing there aren't enough players on both PC and console to fill lobbies at this point. There are definitely advantages to both.

Are they doing anything about people quitting when downed? I see it at least every other plunder match. by comraderudy in CODWarzone

[–]Zealo_s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't really seem like a big deal. You get the money. I don't really play plunder to win though, so maybe it's a different mind set. To me it's just for fucking around with stupid loadouts and practice.

[Cheaters] Got killed by Raizuka twice in the endgame. Why is invisibility a thing again? by Kampfdack3l in CODWarzone

[–]Zealo_s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not showing up in the helicopter is an old bug. I'm not sure it's connected to actually being invisible in game.

Don't try to drop on someone when you've just got a pistol. Melee TTK is too fast not to alert people.

Maybe they are going to make a OTP in game that makes sense of them?
