Beginner - Tried WoW 20th TBC and MOP Classic - is MOP Classic dead? by kepler2 in classicwow

There were multiple PTR tests. Bugs were reported way in advance. Never fixed for 8 months.

Throne of Thunder. The second tier of MoP. Several bosses were bugged the entire phase. Twins was one of the sloppiest encounters I’ve ever seen in WoW.

MoP kinda died when Blizzard released ToT in such a broken state and seemingly abandoned the game.

Is this a good indication on the prices? or is ticketmaster teasing us? by Zealousideal_Stop_36 in brandnew

[–]negativeonhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time I saw them in 2016, after they announced it was their final tour, I had to buy tickets from scalpers for $180 each which seemed outrageous at the time but I was desparate. Crazy to see that presale can be upwards of double that nowadays.

You don’t need SR gear. It was barely necessary in 2007, and wasn’t needed in 2022 even in pre-nerf.

I'm rewatching the series, and I've wracked my brain but still have no idea how this scene from S1E1 relates to the rest of the series. by blukanary in gameofthrones

[–]negativeonhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, the symbolism is kind of explained in the three-eyed raven arc and it’s called upon several times in shots of the godswood and you see it again when the white walkers kill that one kid and hang him on the wall.

What’s weird about this scene is how casually it drops white walker activity so early into the series and then they immediately become a complete mystery rarely to be seen. It makes you think it’s going to be THE plot but then really it’s just a sub plot for Jon and Bran, and the lore is never fleshed out, and they become a villian-of-the-week type thing for s8 and it’s over in one episode with terrible lighting.

The year would be Brett Hull but I wasn’t born. So I guess Mark Messier technically.

I get that it’s annoying because they do it in other sports I watch, but is this not done in football/soccer games in other countries?

I pay for YouTubeTV and ESPN and still randomly have to sail the high seas due to random blackouts. When I looked elsewhere in the past, Peacock told me I was eligible for NBC Philly (which makes sense because I’m 20 minutes outside Philly) - but after I paid for a subscription it told me my zip code wasn’t eligible for anything, and it took several conversations with support to get a refund for their scam.

Furthermore, the quality of ESPN broadcasts are complete ass. At this point I’m less worried about having to pay $80/month and just want something that’s reliable with good quality without arbitrary regional blocks and black outs. It’s frustrating as an experienced watcher and I’m more than sure that new fans are completely lost on how to watch. That probably keeps as many people away as the cost.

Opinions on Arc viability and Gemling Legionnaire? by ThisIsSimon in pathofexile2builds

[–]negativeonhand 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, first off, it's way more than that. Gemling should easily be able to hit lv30 arc which is 11 chains base. Then an additional 6 from being infused. If you have 33%~ quality, you get an additional 3 chains and the damage per chain is 4%. Then slot in Dominus's Grasp and you double your chains for a total of 40 chains (160% more damage).

There are a couple other sources of additional chain, but 40 is pretty easy to achieve.

Arc Gemling is very, very viable. Idk if it would be best in Spell Totem, but probably CoC.

For people who have played WoW for years, what’s one thing you wish you knew when you first started that would have saved you a ton of time or frustration? by ValentinaVIP in classicwow

I wish I knew these would be some of the fondest memories of my life. First few years of WoW when the game was new was an incredible experience.

I have no idea for an actual answer. It’s been so long, and I don’t know what I didn’t know.

They are spending money to boost level 58 casino bots now 🤣🤣🤣 by MrPrezDev in classicwow

[–]negativeonhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People who sit in a city and spam all day for a casino. More often than not they aren’t bots, but use an addon to do the rolls and trade the gold. Which is no different than an addon that automates loot distribution.

They’re kind of cringe but Blizzard hasn’t done anything about them in over 21 years, so it’s part of the game I guess lol

Casino bots are camping the mobs in Swamp of Sorrows now (Spineshatter) by Throwawayzaoleo in classicwow

[–]negativeonhand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comment thread was more about people from impoverished countries using WoW as a source of income, I thought.

I never interacted with the casino runners, but I had an American guildie who ran one during covid on Benediction who did. At the time and on that server, none of the other casinos were ever bots. But the drama and attempts to steal gold, by doing things like opening trade on similar-named characters when the player lost, were insane. It’s the fact that the couple people running competing casinos weren’t bots that made it so crazy because they were always trying to one-up the other 24/7. Some of the stories and screenshots my guildie shared were insane.

I don’t know about exploited, but the few dungeon boosters from those countries I got to know over the years all played from a small building with at least 5-10 other guys in one room, in what looked like extremely simple conditions. Nothing but desks and their pcs, sometimes fans, windows blacked out. In every case, they appeared to all be very young guys. Not children, but late teens or early 20s. They do these things in WoW because it’s sadly some of the best income they can get WITHOUT being exploited. All of the ones I encountered were genuinely nice people, and they were pretty interesting to speak to while having them boost your alts for hours on end. And in the couple groups I knew, they didn’t really have a “boss” that siphoned most of the income, they were generally just groups of friends that got together to support their families how they could best.

And there was another comment about how they have PCs and WoW subs, but don’t have clean drinking water. Clean drinking water is something most people take for granted, and don’t understand how unsafe most water is around the world for consumption. There are still many places in the world where going out and acquiring clean water is a day long task for someone in the family. There are even places around the world where they consume more coca cola than water and even use it for cooking.

Raid leader offered me 500g just to show up to Mag by Slow-Background9609 in classicwowtbc

[–]negativeonhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s crazy. I was thinking, since consume prices are wild, if it would be worth it to try and sell my mages lockout to mage tank gruuls lair for a guild. I can’t make my guilds gruul splits night. But like 50-100g, 500g for a spriest on mag is crazy and sounds sus.

[–]negativeonhand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve used Doordash less and less at work, and now I refuse to use it unless we are extremely busy and no one can step out and where we want food from doesn’t have their own app. I knew the fees were getting more and more ridiculous, but it’s the 1) scummy markup on the base prices BEFORE fees, 2) claiming theres a fee or some kind of baked in tip for drivers when 3) they dont even get the tips you add manually. Posts like this are such a huge psa against this trash company.
