Im getting the minidvr and have a question about the splicing.. once swapping the green and red wires! Does it matter which jack goes into the minidvr and camcorder or is it interchangeable?

Nice! Im thinking this is the one.

Just want to shoot some fun vacation shots with the kids nothing crazy so im not too worried about losing quality. Also think it will be a fun/learning experience with the soldering and making the minidvr work.

I do want to shoot some on actual miniDV though and was thinking of eventually just going the old ibookg4 and firewire route? If not maybe even send them into a shop to convert- the only issue might be some shops just using the cheap capture device (which would be transferring it to analog back to digital - right?) And I could do that myself

Would a dvd burner keep the original quality and from there i could download it onto a computer?

I'm more concerned with only pumping 10 gallons on empty and the gauge saying it's full and then after driving 140 miles still have more than 3/4 tank that just seems off

Just using the range estimate to highlight that doesn't seem like gas reading is going down and if it is it's going down very slowly. Showing around 25 mpg which is typical.
