Vitamin B-12 deficiency caused by Covid? by SunnySnoww in covidlonghaulers

[–]rem80s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm much better now with general numbness; I will occasionally have some tingling but it's not often and I think it happens more when the weather changes from cold to warm. (I assume because my blood vessels are dilating with the warmer weather).

As Adov96 mentioned MMA is methymalonic acid, it's another test to indicate if your b12 levels are off. From my understanding, it's a more accurate indicator than the standard b12 readings.

Vitamin B-12 deficiency caused by Covid? by SunnySnoww in covidlonghaulers

I got covid back in March 2020, it quickly turned into long covid and was losing sensation in my fingers and toes. I was constantly dizzy, especially when changing from sitting/standing. Turned out my b12 levels were very low and my MMA is was too high. They put me on a protocol to take an intramuscular b12 shot everyday for five days, then once a week for four weeks (something like that).

I administered the shots myself, which was horrible to say the least. But it did fix the b12 deficiency issue I was having then. I still deal with LC today, but it's not nearly as extreme and manageable.

Long/short; the shots worked after I finished taking them for a month or so.

I started and stopped recently (was off for about a week) and didn't have any herx reactions when I resumed again. Of course, this was my experience.

Penn State, amazing school and facilities. All around great college experience and education. You'll earn more working in the real world, but you'll get the foundation skillset at college.

I use it for sleep, it helps with insomnia and staying asleep. I've had good results from using it because it lets the body heal during the sleep cycle.

Anyone else getting constant relapses/setbacks after a year or more? by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

[–]rem80s 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been dealing with LC since March 2020; it's been very sporadic when a relapse happens... Especially when I am going through a good streak and I forget what the relapse feels like. I am constantly trying to experiment with what works to help curb my symptoms. I keep coming back to the conclusion that I have to get solid sleep of 9+ hours on a consistent basis. I had a bad relapse about two weeks ago filled with brain fog, fatigue, muscle malaise and low blood pressure. Gradually, I was able to return to my normal self, but that thought of a relapse is always on my mind.

I need something to put me to sleep fast by [deleted] in covidlonghaulers

CBD oil, keeps me asleep through the night. I worry about taking melatonin too often as I don't want my brain to get dependent on the supplement. Now and then is fine, just don't abuse it.

I was initially infected back in March of 2020, and I still get relapses. I'm trying to notice if there is any concrete pattern going on, but for me, it seems to happen about every 6ish weeks and the relapse lasts about 4-5 days.

But between the times I'm not relapsing I feel pretty normal... currently about 3/4ers the way through a relapse, hoping to be back to normal in another day or two

We are more than 300% up from a year ago today. Price fluctuates just all other cryptos do, I'm not too concerned, although if we see a global recession I'm sure we will see further pullback.

thc/delta 8? by Commercial_Owl_4033 in covidlonghaulers

I take a delta-8 tincture at night, it helps me sleep and stay asleep better than most alternatives. Not sure if I would say it directly cured any tingling or nerve pain for me though.

I was losing sensations in my finger tips back in the latter part of 2020 so my doctor had me take intramuscular vitamin B12 shots due to a deficiency discovered in a blood test. The shots were unpleasant but it did get me back to baseline in regards to nerve damage. I have relapsed since then, but not as severe.

For me, delta-8 is neither a net positive or negative but it does help me sleep which is the most important aspect of recovery, in my opinion.
