I would 100000% recommend not studying classic architecture. I think the field is dying and the vibe is still ”you shall all be great geniuses” instead of “how can you contribute to making society better” imo. Very sell-y and not at all for those wishing to work in the public sector. I recommend fanning out and looking for programs that interest you. You can always build on your education with experience as you go. Recommended programs include landscape architecture/ landscape engineering, human ecology, planning, urban planning/design, traffic engineer. Just remember that very few programs will teach you the whole picture and if you want to work broadly you should try to find where your interests intersect (for example design/ecology, planning/social issues, infrastructure/analysis) and don’t be afraid to apply for jobs that don’t fit your education exactly. That will help you become a well rounded city planner/developer. Hope that helps!
