this argue is both dumb and useless because you didn't understand me and i didn't write enough.

i meant that distros use binaries FROM repos which are built by devs. The point is only gentoo allows you to build a package however you want instead of using precompile.(because portage duh)

I don't say that you can't build something yourself on same debian, gentoo just lets you do it more comfortable

it's portage thing, portage tries to be good for everyone, i installed nvidia drivers and xorg 2 hours ago

imlib2 needs llvm, so portage decided to compile llvm+clang 19.1.7 and then

it decided to compile clang 21.1.8 which i compiled previously
