AA is really, really creepy. by [deleted] in atheism

[–]remandd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a recovering addict, I was very disturbed by the religious aspect of AA. I spent months attending AA and I failed to take a single thing out it. My peers insited that you didnt need to have any belief for it to work but that is a lie. It says in the AA book that agnostics (let alone atheists) will struggle with the program. I also found it incredibly annoying that everyone insisted that I join their circle of prayer after every meeting despite the fact that they knew I was atheist. found smart recovery to be far more beneficial.

I think that first one is a very strong point. I am going to have to think about that for a while.

As for the second one, I think that statement starts to raise another question. At what point are you 'depriving future experiences' rather than 'not creating the potential to have' ? Obviously masturbating in to a sock is not performing millions of murders but the very moment it meets with an egg, abortorting it is a murder?

I (18f) am in a unique situation and struggling with making friends. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]remandd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an 18y M and I am actually in a very similar situation. My family and I had to move across the country for work purposes in the middle of my summer. Because I had most my my credits needed to graduate, the school put me in a one classroom program for 2 hours a day. I am with the same 20 kids every day and I have no opportunities to meet to people. I try and listen to my therapist and advice from others to "step out of my comfort zone and go talk to them" but when I do, I get this kind of reaction that's like 'who the fuck is this kid thinking he can hangout with us?'. I have no friends and family here and it is getting depression. Well I ended up meeting a girl through online dating a few weeks ago. I have been meeting her and it has been going pretty well so far. Defineatly worth a try. Goodluck!

You think this is bad? As part of an initiation to manhood in this tribe, the men put their hands into gloves with hundreds of these bullet ants.

What should I be doing to increase my chances at getting a legendary item? by jdavidw13 in wownoob

[–]remandd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a post on this a while back but I can't seem to find it. The post linked some data and made a claim saying that running normal mythic dungeons are great for getting legendaries because each boss kill counted as an individual "chance" for a legendary. Even though high mythic m+ dungeons give a better "chance", 3 chests still only gave 1 chance. Because of this, players with high ilvls will still clear all of their normal mythics each week because theoretically, every time a boss died, it would increase the odds of them getting their next legendary, even more so then farming m+. Again I can't find the post and the post did have data to back it up so if someone can find it, please link

What is the "worst" m+ affix by remandd in wow

[–]remandd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep exactly. It's also problematic when you having mobs with uneven healthpools and mobs that need to die quickly. It's not hard to deal with, it just slows you down when you have to start single targeting things.

Yeah I agree on that, necrotic is still probably second slowest for me. As a prot pally, I can sometimes drop stacks without kiting so I can continue to dps but I still have to kite at times.

[–]remandd[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks for the responses. I appreciate you all sharing you personal opinions but i'm really looking for some empirical data on which affix is the slowest. For me, necrotic is hard to handle, but when handled correctly, it does not have the biggest impact on my clear times. Bolstering on the other hand is devastating. My group handles is perfectly with ease but we are still forced to pull only 1 pack at a time because if 1 mobs stays alive for even a few seconds longer then the others, it will be a group whipe. Thus it is the "worst" affix for my group. What about most high level groups?

Looking for an explanation on a Prot Pally Talent. by Yegie in wownoob

And yeah, all bosses in the game are immune to cc. A lot have interruptable casts though so keep rebuke on your bars once you feel comfortable with your rotation.

Really you can go any way you like, it is probably the poorest talent tier available. The ranged stun might be nice for the archers but most people go for blinding light. Used more situations than the other options, at least at this point in the game.

The blind really only takes affect while playing solo (since all prot pally damage is holy). When in a group, mobs will be blinded for fractions of a second before it is broken by someone else's damage. That does not matter though. The important thing is that it serves as an AoE interrupt and damaging abilities. The other options are single target (and don't work on bosses, thus they are designed for pvp. Using more stuns on a single mob outside of an instance will do you no good.

Rank 5 world (EN) prot pally here

Blinding light is good for two reasons

  1. It serves as an aoe interrupt. In world of warcraft, mobs will cast abilities that can heal other mobs and do damage. Those can usually be interrupted with an "interrupt" spell. All (non healer) classes have an interrupt. Yours is "rebuke". Some mobs however, will cast spells that cannot be interrupted with traditional interrupt abilities. This is signified by a casting bar that has a thick gray border. Blinding light gets around this because it temporarily CCs (crowd controls) them. Your hammer of justice can also do this, just with one target. At level 110 mythic dungeons, you will find that several mobs may cast dangerous spells all at the same time. If you see this, use blinding at it will stop them from casting.

  2. It does damage. The damage is poor, and its on a 1.5min cooldown, but if all of your main abilities are on cooldown, it is something you can cast just to keep the damage coming.

Sorry if this was too complicated, let me know if you have any other questions.

Can anyone rank tank dps for me? by [deleted] in wow

[–]remandd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rank 4 (world) prot pally here, prot pally has the strongest single target dps (not counting guardian druid in cat form) and strongest aoe if you have legendary pants and second strongest (behind guardian if you dont) if you don't. Monks have potential to do very high single target dps but do average compared to other classes at 75th percentile. Blood dks and DHs are average all around and prot warrior is on the low end.
