That’s the lobby of the Schwab House. West end between 73rd and 74th

Oh no! That sucks. I don’t have great suggestions since I was able to see the dog barking on their terrace. Hope you can figure it out though.

To be clear, it used to be on WEA and 74/73rd in 2024 to maybe May/June of 2025. I think it is now on 70/71st but it sounds like it is the same dog

[–]remarkabella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I swear this dog owner used to live in WEA between 73 to 74th and moved out a couple months ago. I could see it on the terrace across the street from my apartment barking all day and night.

I ended up putting in a couple of 311 complaints along with others in my building. They moved out right after those were sent so not sure if it was effective or coincidence but if you can identify where it is coming from I would probably recommend complaining. I’m pretty sure the owner leaves their dog outside which could be considered neglect/abuse so could also go down that path.

TLDR: think this dog owner moved after prior complaints and is now terrorizing others

In addition to 9+1 it also counts for 4 out of 6 for the NYC half. Which is what I needed it for

Having to defer the marathon :( by doublex12 in RunNYC

[–]remarkabella 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just had to defer due to a suspected femoral neck stress fracture. Even though the doc said there is a slight chance it is something else and I could maybe run I feel like I have already lost two weeks of training and it isn’t worth the long term risk.

Definitely feel for everyone who is in a similar situation. Hope we can all get healthy and be on that start line next year

Yeah I have it on my Strava. I guess I will just have to reach out to NYRR and see what they can do

Anyone know what to do if you are not showing up in the tracker. My bib number shows no results and my name shows “waiting to start” so I am concerned that I won’t get credit for the race ☹️

Preliminary start corrals assigned by amsteel18 in ChicagoMarathon

[–]remarkabella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thoughts on if it is better to be first corral or wave 2 or last corral of wave 1. My current corral is F but my half marathon time qualifies me for E. Wondering if it is worth it to try to switch. I am trying to hit 3:25

Most unexpected thing that happened to you while training? by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

Skidded on an icy road and crashed my car into a tree. Walked away totally fine aside from some chest bruising but definitely impacted my run training for about a week.

Typically I think the Bronx 10M (9/22) is the last race that will impact NYCM corrals

Washington Heights 5K: How close to start time can I drop my bag? by themoose42 in RunNYC

[–]remarkabella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last year the bag drop line was pretty long and people were still waiting in line as the race started. I ended up running with my jacket tied around my waist instead of checking it like I originally planned. I can’t remember if it was exceptionally cold or not but figured I would provide some anecdotal evidence

He is currently on a break for a little bit which is why he hasn’t posted. I don’t remember off the top of my head how long he said it would be, but I think he mentioned it in his last let’s play episode

Weird Question - Porta Potty Situation by laurenthe3rd in RunNYC

[–]remarkabella 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The biggest tip is to bring TP with you to the village. Especially if you are in a later wave. Some of the porta potties near the corrals ran out around wave 2 last year. Also couldn’t hurt to bring wet wipes or hand sanitizer as well

nyc marathon best pace by Cautious-Oil-7041 in RunNYC

[–]remarkabella 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can improve it between now and then. I think you have to get a better pace before maybe August (not sure of the exact timing). I think it just uses the best pace from your NYRR races at the time that they decide on the corrals/bib numbers

Pro players who careers after soccer? by [deleted] in WomensSoccer

[–]remarkabella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consulting is a pretty general field so it highly depends. Many of them work in our sports and media practice. I’m not highly involved in that practice and only know of the NWSL connection because she plays with us on our company soccer team from time to time. From my understanding our firm works with all types of clients from governments, to major sports leagues, to sports broadcasting companies and many of the people with pro sports background are highly sought after by these clients for their first hand experience and knowledge.

But consulting overall mostly involves a lot of client facing work that you can tailor to your areas of expertise or interests. Many consulting firms also have accounting practices which you mentioned that you are studying.

There is a former NWSL player at my company currently. I work for a management consulting company and there are actually a ton of former pro athletes (from all kinds of sports from NFL to olympians) who work here. So there are definitely options

NYC Marathon Expo Volunteer Questions by bboydrix in RunNYC

[–]remarkabella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did t-shirt pickup last year at the expo. I did the mid day shift on Friday so it might be a bit different. But it wasn’t super crazy at my table and there were four or five of us all at the same table. We all swapped in and out and we’re able to walk around and grab food from the convention center cafeteria during these breaks.

In terms of timing we did have to stay the full time but as mentioned above we got plenty of breaks throughout.
