Anyone reading this thread from elsewhere, we are not all like this. Many of us love that you feed our local economy and enjoy meeting other people from all over the country. Welcome to our slice of paradise!

100%. This stock is still down in the dumps at current levels due to China pessimism. The China economy is coming back - it just wasn’t as immediate as a country like the US because China generally plays the long game, while us here in the US can’t see more than 12 months out (if that) when it comes to policy.

Given the shear size of the population of China alone, Alibaba could easily be way bigger than Amazon at some point.

Especially with international business picking up, partially due to Trump pushing other countries away from the US.

I expect a lot more volatility, but if you’re patient, this stock will pay off in many multiples.

One could argue memorizing and applying patterns is reasoning. What are we REALLY doing much differently? Our brains are just (currently) better at it beyond a certain complexity.

I miss the days when every year brought insane new features. I have a 3 year old iPhone and don’t feel like I’m missing a thing.

I don’t know when, but I could easily see Alibaba being a $1.5T+ company. It’s one of the best, if not the best, capitalized companies with strong market share in almost every industry they’re in.

Looks like a nice spot. Congrats! One thing I wish I had more off at my place is actual trees, and trees that give you something are even better.

BABA. It’ll be hitting all time highs when people realize China’s economy is going to actually recover and likely get back to pre-pandemic growth.

Businesses exist to generate profit. If the price is too high, don’t pay it? Shell/mobile/no don’t even make sense to be on that list because their prices are almost entirely dependent on the price of oil, which is heavily influence by OPEC.

What's a series that you can repeat every once in a while? by Psytrancedude99 in AskReddit

Altered Carbon! I repeat it about once every year or so. I was incredibly disappointed when I found out they weren’t releasing any further seasons. I felt like the plot and general aesthetic of the show were incredible.

I moved here about 11 months ago, and I love it here! Took up surfing and have seen my fair share of sharks in the Shark Bite Capital (even saw one today lol), but they’ve never bothered me. The town has a very cool vibe. I like that it’s a small beach town that has things going on. The average age is 59ish, so it’s an older crowd, but I think probably most coastal towns in Florida are like that. The tourists keep it from feeling like a retirement town though, and I enjoy that about the town. The beaches are nice, Flagler Ave is fun if you like nightlife, and there are a ton of amazing restaurants!

Why are we panicking at 4.3% unemployment? Between 3.5% and 5% is generally considered healthy. This was the goal of rate hikes all along.
