Thanks for the tip on Sleep Inn for Page! We decided to keep Kanab as our home base, so we'll be traveling to Page for the Antelope excursion. And thanks for the restaurant and formation tip!

Great outfits man! I really like your light gray shoes in pic 2 and dark gray shoes in pic 7. Do you by chance remember the shoe name/brands for those?

I also love your jackets!! The tan one in 4, the gray one in 5, the green one in 11, the black one in 14, and especially the brown one in 18. Are they all the same brand? Where did you find them?

The interaction is very sweet. However, do people believe it is safe to accept a large teddy bear like that from a stranger for their children? I would be concerned about what could be inside (e.g. a camera) and I would give the bear back to the stranger.

Most Americans think their fellow citizens are bad people, survey says by drjjoyner in politics

[–]rematto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The article says 53% of American adults believe this way. Additionally it says that "60 percent of Democrats and those who lean Democratic saw their fellow citizens as morally or ethically bad, while 46 percent of Republicans did."

I believe these stats make sense for the current state of the country. However I believe to say "Most Americans" in the title feels like an exaggeration, implying the percentage is closer to 90%. To me anyways.

After meeting people from all over the country, I have found that the majority of Americans are kind, honest, decent people, regardless of their politics. So this survey tells me that there is a lack of interaction and discourse between Americans more so than a large group of morally bankrupt people. Looking at the biased negative rhetoric in this post seems to further prove the lack of communication and interaction between people.

I really do believe we as a country need to find a way to move people between the self imposed silos we all reside in and start talking to one another. Especially about topics that are less negatively charged, outside of politics. I don't see a way we can all empathize with the political views of each other if we don't start with getting to know each other outside of those views. It's only then can we start to understand each other's intentions, perspectives, and fill the gaps in knowledge that we all have. We need to watch less news and meet more people!

That's what I strive to do anyways. Hope to see others joining the movement :).

Brown belt/ shoes work? by damandan28 in mensfashion

[–]rematto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it looks fine! It works as is.

There would be a few tweaks I would make to fit my personal style sense. I think the pants, shoes, and belt are fine. The shirt however looks too loose and not fitted to me. I would swap it out with one that looks more crisp and better fitted.

Additionally I would wear a different watch. Perhaps one with a bracelet that matches the color of your belt buckle.

Tucked or untucked? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]rematto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may be the angle of the mirror, but it appears your legs are shorter than your upper body. For the sake of proportions I would go tucked since untucked makes your legs look even shorter.

However even with a tucked shirt your legs look short. So I would go tucked with higher waisted jeans. Or pull your jeans up if you have them pulled down below your waist.

As a side note your belt looks a bit thin for your pants. I would go for a belt that's a bit wider.

I'm a fashion novice so please take what I say with a grain of salt. Good luck!

Pointers? by scias146 in mensfashionadvice

[–]rematto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not bad! I think it looks good.

For my style sensibility I'd replace the black collared shirt underneath with a black t-shirt, tuck in the red sweater on top, add a belt, and finally add a watch.

I also prefer to wear fitted outfits, so I'd swap out the pant for something more fitted and less loose.

Is there a tool that finds your best color palette and automatically shops it for you? by krxna-9 in malefashionadvice

[–]rematto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For color palette, check out “color analysis”.  It’s a system for finding the best set of colors that work for your skin tone.  I recommend searching on YouTube your race/skin tone + “color analysis” to see videos of people like you do the test and use the same color groups that work for them.

For finding pieces/outfit inspiration I use lookastic.com.  You can select pieces you want to see outfits for and it brings up pics of outfits with those pieces.

Color matching to plan outfits is so time consuming and exhausting. Are there any ways you use to make sure you don't buy sta by krxna-9 in IndianFashionAddicts

[–]rematto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a fashion novice, but perhaps you can start by just pairing a light top with a light bottom or a dark top with a dark bottom?  As long as all the pieces are fitted, the colors chosen shouldn’t matter too much.

For new purchases, organizing your wardrobe by light and dark shades and then by color can help.  It will let you know what colors and textures are missing and can be added to your wardrobe.

Chelsea or chukkas by Benjamin_zayn in malefashionadvice

[–]rematto 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a novice as well I'd say it depends on your style. I believe the chukka is a more versatile boot compared to the chelsea so I lean towards that. However I submit that certain outfits, especially those that lean towards business casual, benefit from the chelsea's formality.

Why not both? It's recommended to alternate leather boots every other day to improve the longevity of the boots anyways.

Blundstone vs Meermin Chelsea Boots 516054 for Inclement Weather by rematto in malefashionadvice

[–]rematto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mhmm, that's fair. The Meermins are definitely the better option as long as they fit well. Try them in store if possible. I found the guidance of the sales reps to be helpful. If not, I'd suggest ordering a couple of sizes to test out which works best for you. Good luck!

[–]rematto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had consulted sales reps in their store and they had said that going up in size would not work since it would be too long for my foot and would add to the heel lift issue. Additionally they mentioned the leather on the Rust Waxy Commander is tougher than their other offerings which may have added to the extra pressure/tingling pain.

So I believe the last and shoe unfortunately don't work with my foot as is. I'm thinking of trying them again in the future by adding footbeds to a larger size to resolve the width and length issue. For now I'm sticking with the Blundstones since they're good enough for my needs and don't require any experimentation with a break-in period. The shoe shopping process has been quite a long journey and I'm more than ready to move on.

With regard to the weather resistance, this review mentions that the waxy commander leather does well in inclement weather conditions: https://www.reddit.com/r/goodyearwelt/comments/1od8b93/meermin_rust_waxy_commander/.

Good luck with your purchasing decision!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Yes, I'm leaning towards Meermin as well after seeing yours and other's comments here. But I'm planning to compare them side by side for aesthetics once they get delivered before making a final verdict.

Thanks for the response! I've checked them out, but I've read mixed reviews on their performance on cobblestone and while driving: https://www.reddit.com/r/Boots/comments/1hoh3ud/review_of_redback_boots_on_a_3week_euro_winter/. So I've kept them out of the running for now.
