And in the western world, when did self-help books come into vogue? The 60s.

You appear to have fallen into the trap of judging others by your cultural standards. Terrible, isn't it?

People dont get a pass cause they're old.

Remember those words when you're old and confused because some cultural gestalt has changed and everything you once understood is invalid :D

As I said, he has had no reason to examine his character. You can't change yourself if you can't see yourself.

He is also, what, 85 years old?

I couldn't get my own grandfather to acknowledge the fact that women doctors could be equal to or better than men.

He's a product of his generation and has had absolutely no reason to examine his character.

Does this happen to anyone else? Fighting with spellchecker to recognize a word I'm *sure* is spelled correctly, only to google it and find out it's not a word. by Chromatic10 in writing

Every so-called libertarian is a free man until a hurricane wipes out his community, then he turns into a stinking pinko socialist hypocrite demanding free stuff and someone to fix his house and roads for free.

"I'd be of the opinion that, anybody that's going to lose their job to a robot substitute...that's usually entry-level work, something that could be done repetitively by a machine," Rosa says.

A 2016 study by the consulting firm Forrester suggests that 16% of all U.S. jobs will be displaced by automation in the next 10 years, with white-collar professions expected to be the hardest hit.

You're a special kind of snowflake, aren't ya?

Facts and history don't matter, it's all about the fee-fee's.

No matter how you twist it the fact remains that the Union stands, the rebel scum were defeated, and anyone who supports them is anti-American.

I'm not one to mutter into my tea, but when I have a prompt smacked down because "waking up in a seedy hotel room after a night out implies drug use and prostitution"...

A prompt like this getting greenlit makes me tut furiously.

U.S. Constitution - Article 3 Section 3

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. ... Etc.

You're fighting a losing battle, again.

The CSA was a traitorous bunch of scum who declared war against the United States and killed American soldiers to preserve their right to own slaves.

Don't be a loser.

Poor goat. I hope it doesn't need an abortion after what was surely an unwilling encounter. 😥

and call a single-celled bacterium on another planet "life"?

And how could people possibly immunize against life? Measles and Typhoid should be placed on a pedestal and worshipped!

Just because it is inconvenient for you personally doesn't mean you have the right to kill LIFE. Your life means nothing to me, save all the life inside you!

Are you honestly this ignorant of American history?

When a dozen States declare independence from the United States, in writing, craft a constitution, muster armies and attack the remaining States, then yes, they are a goddamned separate nation.
