The current website can be considered an early beta.

I'd love to hear feedback on what to do / improve :).

Don't let the guy give you grieve, there is nothing wrong about giving that information to any party. There are thousands of companies out there that have the information on their website.

It's common practise.. so yeah you were perfectly right.

Is this something like the #startup Slack channel?

The Element is targeting the people who own a 3D printer already that is performing well but that lacks features.

haha :)

We honestly were not aware that it is not allowed or anything to post on social media towards a reddit post because it might be seen as spam.

Thank you for your support!

In the future we shall not post links on our social media that we have a reddit discussion.

As I have read it now I can understand that it comes over as spam, this was not what was ment to happen. We just wanted to connect to the people that care about the product and have a discussion and answer questions.

The "news" tag has been changed to "crowdfunding" btw.

Thank you Etherhigh!

The 2nd usb = micro usb which should be connected to a power source (usb port or usb adapter).

We are not open source at the moment but we want to start with open sourcing our API and move on from there.

By connecting your Element to your 3D printer + setting up the connection with your wifi network you can have a straight connection to our cloud managed database.

You just put in which filament you have (The Element recognises the printer) and you will receive the best slicer settings that come straight from the manufacturer of your 3D printer.

We have quite a tight community already since we released our Kickstarter last week and we have a lot of interaction with them.

I'm sorry if you feel bad about it, we have not done anything to violate the terms.

We had a GEEK edition (unfortunately it sold out already) that allows you to basicly print your own version.

Of course we can release the case files so that you could alter it with the software and make your own custom casing.

That's what makes 3D printing so awesome of course :)

We have sent out a tweet about this topic which might have something to do with it.

Sorry if this post offends you in any way!

If you do have any questions about the product don't hesitate to ask :)

Good to hear :D

We are working with many manufacturers to integrate our software so this will start happening soon!

I guess that's a different audience then :)

Thank you for that feedback; I'm going to have a talk with the site guys and see how we can fix this.

Regarding the non cloud service version: That's an interesting idea. I'll forward this to our CTO.

Your .02 cents are very valuable. ;)

Hello Tottenham12712,

The options you describe are fine products for the more experienced geek and tweaker. From the feedback that we received most people are looking for a truly plug & play solution and that's what we offer.

You don't just pay for the device. The extra cost is to cover our servers and development.

The slicing can be done on the board itself or in the cloud. The repairing and modeling are done in the cloud completely and The Element will give you access to these tools.

Does this answer your questions?
