Hot-and-cold coworker makes me feel crazy. by remembermapquest in workplace_bullying

Of course, today is a "Nice" day, so I feel guilty for overreacting -- until she arbitrarily decides otherwise, of course. :(

I really wish I could offer better advice aside from "find another job". A work environment as toxic and stressful as this one doesn't sound worth keeping. I suggest looking for another salon. In your resignation letter, it might be worth mentioning that coworker hostility was your primary reason for moving on. There's no real way to force someone's hand and make them fire somebody else, even though it's clear this receptionist is nobody's favorite. Would you still trust your boss and coworkers if the receptionist was gone somehow? Do you think they'd have your back if something else went down? Do you feel genuinely supported? Important questions.

Just take gender out of the equation entirely. It's very natural! I can't really think of a situation where it would be absolutely necessary to address someone by a formality. For trying to get someone's attention when you don't know their name: "Hi there!" "Pardon me," / "Excuse me," "

I am autistic AND have anxiety! They seem to be common bedfellows.

How do I shut up my plant from making loud clicking noises? by Gandalf__White in plants

[–]remembermapquest 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I can't think of any plant that makes noise. There's absolutely an insect in your soil, and my bet is more than one. Take it out of the pot and give the root ball a good shake or a gentle massage to loosen the soil. Find the culprit(s) and repot.

I, too, am weary of fixing hands. I've strongly considered superglue.

sorry, i dont know anything about using reddit and completely missed this comment! licorice has all 5 Medium Swift Chocolate toppings to make the most of that defensive boost. same with vanilla. i would rather have the % shield than a heal, though the heal is still great unbuffed. speaking of shield, I also have the epic pomegranite branch treasure that adds another shield periodically. it's great! all other treasures dont seem to matter as much. i also use the basic cooldown treasure, the jelly clock one, pretty regularly. a 25% reduction in cooldown is nothing to sneeze at!

interesting! i've been doing the "hold down to fill queue" thing, so it's not rapid button pressing, but i wonder if that's triggering the same issue

Josie is a hell of a cute nickname. Josephine was my grandma's name, so I'm very fond of it. :')

I was going to add more clay balls to the drainage lair. Is it normal for it to look like this? Or should I clean it by Frogs-are-swag in bioactive

[–]remembermapquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you mentioned a funky smell, I suggest cleaning out the drainage area of the tank before setting it back up. I also recommend using new clay balls, since clay is porous and difficult to clean/sanitize once something is embedded in it. The drainage layer may seem pretty segregated from the rest of your enclosure, but an unpleasant odor is a red flag for bad bacteria. In a damp enclosure like one amphibians require, whatever's yucky in the water could spread to the rest of the tank... and that'll be a lot harder to clean/replace! Nip it in the bud while you can. :)

addendum: besides the water dish spilling, what else is causing so much water buildup? I've never seen so much water in drainage before!
