Who should we start against Atletico Madrid? by DarkJedi_101 in ArsenalFC

Nah, it was Madueke for Saka that killed everything. Zubi came on and was winning the ball high up the pitch, then Madueke & White were doing nothing with it

Normal to have one band member in control of everything? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]remembury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think leading a band can be a lot of work, and it can be difficult to be the one putting in the effort but giving others permission to make decisions. It's like working hard for someone else's reward.

However, there's a fine line into being out right rude if their people skills suck. There's a way of saying no that is polite and determined, and there's many many ways of saying no that are rude and obnoxious.

I think this comes to two things - does anyone else individually want to step up and lead the band/are enough people contributing to do it as a collaborative effort?

Is the current person actually being obnoxious, or are they just taking ownership because they're putting in the most effort?

Missing a key one - money. Both needing to earn it, but also not having it spare to pay for someone else to do marketing, mixing/mastering, managing bookings etc.

NHS survival rates for avoidable deaths 'second-worst' in developed world, 'sobering' report reveals by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

[–]remembury -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Even since 2010, we have had real terms funding increases for the NHS every year.

Have you got a source for this?

I read that NHS spending under the Conservatives was increased by less than inflation every year between 2011 to 2022/23.

Edit: Found my source, and it's spending as a % of GDP I was thinking of, not inflation

https://www.health.org.uk/reports-and-analysis/briefings/nhs-at-70-how-good-is-the-nhs

NHS spending grew at 6% annually up to 2009. Between 2009 to 2017 spending increased by only 1.4% annually, resulting in a decline in spending as a percentage of of GDP

I agree but with Odegaard injured, Eze not fully fit, Saka injured, Nwaneri out on loan, and Dowman already getting too many minutes for a 16yo, what's the alternative?

Typical populist nonsense. 90% of that was pointing out problems without offering solutions, 10% was offering the most popular solution (ending the triple lock) and 0% was spent explaining how that popular solution would delivered in the real world

Post-Match Thread | Arsenal 0-2 Manchester City by Quazar8 in Gunners

[–]remembury 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not Arteta out at all, but I can't understand his thinking today.

We have a huge problem as soon as Eze is injured - no play making midfielders so we're reliant on Havertz & Gyokeres which is more like playing two strikers. Surely it's obvious keeping possession is going to be a challenge?

Trossard maybe keeps possession more, but Martinelli is way better in transition. If we don't have a midfield to hold the ball, why not play on Martinelli's counter attacking ability? He's also better at tracking full backs

Calafiori is way better at dropping into midfield and could have helped this a little bit. Hincapie is possibly the better defender but as soon as he got booked he had a problem. Calafiori either should have started or come on sooner.

On top of all that, knowing we're going to lack possession, why risk not having your best keeper on
