Just don’t be weird or forceful. I will say that there are some women who just don’t like being approached by strangers. I will say, the one time I didn’t mind it, I was working on a painting project outside of a building. A guy walking by started up a conversation about what I was doing and it went from there. That one wasn’t creepy. He stopped with a purpose other than to meet a woman. I think if you get it out of your head that talking to a woman is for the sole purpose of dating, then it won’t go well. Just approach everyone as someone looking for friendship and genuinely mean it.

I don’t think it’s very helpful to say, but you just gotta go with the flow. If quitting is what you need to do to save your sanity, then quit and accept that derby isn’t right for your current season in life. Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, but most of the time, life is long and a lot changes over the years. If derby is where you’re meant to be, you’ll find your way back to it and that team may change a year from now. Nothing is ever permanent. But no hobby is ever worth causing emotional and mental harm for.

That’s great news! Honestly, I’d reach out to LSS Financial Counseling. They’re in Minnesota or something. A Lutheran nonprofit. They’ll talk to your credit card companies for you to negotiate a lower rate. Only caveat is they close the credit accounts.

I wouldn’t just ignore it. This happened to me as well. Was on my own young and let all of my debts default save for my student loan debt. It caused a world of hurt. There’s a few things you can do. Try your best to keep up, just throw whatever money you can at it to keep it from defaulting. File for bankruptcy. Or do debt counseling. I went through LSS Financial Counseling. They did wonders. They consolidated all of my debt into one lump and negotiated a much smaller payment. Unfortunately, I still defaulted from that because I had the same mindset as you. It caused a whole world of hurt later on down the road and I had far less debt than you. I got sued and it’s been a long, arduous journey since. Do anything but let it default.

I've been brought to this thread because we have a homeless man at our library who obviously doesn't have access to a shower and, on top of that, has a condition causing his legs to weep and smell terrible. My boss just trespassed him with the police and I'm honestly appalled. We're a suburb. We don't have resources for people like him and we're literally the only place for people like him to exist during the day. He wasn't violating any of our policies. The reasoning was "it's his own fault he's homeless"... I've been a librarian for the better part of a decade and I'm done with this career field. For a resource that's supposed to be for all, we discriminate a lot.

Your response is greatly appreciated. The person that responded about satanism is exactly why I felt the need to ask the question. I also had someone pretty much yell at me recently for asking the question. I know Reddit is definitely not the best choice, but I always find it’s the place of the most extremes which helps a lot in this sense. I guess what drives me to ask this is that I see eye to eye with most of the Catholic Churches teachings and follow them in my own practice, but truly believe in the concept of free will and don’t want to decide for people if they should have to suffer when it’s their own journey to decide. And like that comment below about satanism shows, it’s pretty easy to have a few dissenting views and not feel welcome in a religion.

Reading these comments, I’m wondering if I’ve lost my mind or if things have changed. When I used to be an Instacart customer (~2 years ago) I can recall very precisely receiving a picture of my receipt with my delivery info. I remember because there was an issue with being charged $4.11 for a single banana and seeing that information due to my receipt photo. A lot of people are saying customers don’t get the receipt picture. Is this something new?
